World at One...the musical...
as promised. WATO on the road at one of the party conferences. As usual the WATO stand was in the public area, amid the conference stalls. Unexpectedly, one nearby started making some...noise, just as Nick was getting things underway...
Umm, Eddie/Richard/Lissa,
The main page doesn't seem to be listing todays' two blogs, making some people think you've not blogged today... Any chance you can give the server a kick?
Ta!

They say great ideas come from accidents. So how about ALL the news done with music behind.. and a funky renaming of the reader at the same time...
'Afternoon delight' behind Charlotte G,
Pete D backed by 'I'm a hunka hunka burnin' love'
Harry C with 'who puts the bomp'
Carolyn Q with 'Killer Quinn' (well almost)
Then of course your goodself Eddie M with 'video killed the radio star'
Thinking of news programmes and music;
Will you chaps in the PM & WatO office be joining in with the TV news types in doing a high-quality musical number at next years Children in Need?
It's the only thing I tune in for on the evening. I look forward to the day that the Beeb releases a DVD compilation of all the newsreaders-musical-moments from across the years.
Si.
"The Mighty Quinn" might be better for Sequin (no aspersions being cast)
Dollar hu Akhbar!

The problem is, people with hearing impaired problems have problems with background music. My mother is 89, she has had problems for some 30 years, and loves the TV. Why spoil it for her and masses of others?
We are all getting older.

my friend Peter says "Phooey!"
Nick Clarke - the consummate professional.
Now may we have the Parma ham incident - please?
Is it only me, or does anyone else here feel that they first heard about polonium-210 on 'Round the Horne'?
I would like to echo Gossipmistress' request (see 10).
steve - I know just what you mean! Julian and Sandy?
ooh err
HORNE: Will you take my case?
JULIAN: Well, it depends on what it is. We've got a criminal practice that takes up most of our time.
HORNE: Yes, but apart from that — I need legal advice.
SANDY: Ooh, isn't he bold?
so I'm not going mad then
oops! left the :-)) off the end of that one :o)
Great Blog
I fear the calendar on this page may be broken (as of 9:24am Tues) cos when I click on it I end up on something called "MistaJam".
Ps It's me - at the top of the blog!
The strapline I mean. Go on, have a look, you know you want to!
Congrats, Stephen
Lord Mair: Have you seen this yet?
I really, really, think you need to have a look ......
Eddie, go on, go on, go on........
Stephen, you must have been away on Pluto for a long time as I complained about Mistajam days ago, No-one else seems to have had any trouble with it though, so maybe it's just us.
Nick Clarke must have had phenomenal powers of concentration.
I'm a reasonably professional presenter but if that had happened to ME I fear my giggle muscles would have struck.
Fifi
Its the calmness he did stuff that made him a great broadcaster, I've decided- not matter what the event, his voice fitted perfectly, from the funeral of the Queen mother, to an event such as that.
