World at One...the musical...

Eddie Mair | 12:35 UK time, Monday, 27 November 2006

    The main page doesn't seem to be listing todays' two blogs, making some people think you've not blogged today... Any chance you can give the server a kick?

    They say great ideas come from accidents. So how about ALL the news done with music behind.. and a funky renaming of the reader at the same time...
    'Afternoon delight' behind Charlotte G,
    Pete D backed by 'I'm a hunka hunka burnin' love'
    Harry C with 'who puts the bomp'
    Carolyn Q with 'Killer Quinn' (well almost)
    Then of course your goodself Eddie M with 'video killed the radio star'

    Thinking of news programmes and music;

    Will you chaps in the PM & WatO office be joining in with the TV news types in doing a high-quality musical number at next years Children in Need?

    It's the only thing I tune in for on the evening. I look forward to the day that the Beeb releases a DVD compilation of all the newsreaders-musical-moments from across the years.

    The problem is, people with hearing impaired problems have problems with background music. My mother is 89, she has had problems for some 30 years, and loves the TV. Why spoil it for her and masses of others?
