Meet the commissioners, view the terms of reference and hear the Commission Chair Sir Michael Lyons explain his approach.
Which is the most outrageous picture so far, in your view Eric?
A politically Correct Season Greeting
Holiday Greetings to Everyone
I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to my friends, but it is so difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending someone. So I met with my attorney yesterday, and on his advice I wish to say the following:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, nonaddictive, gender neutral celebration of the summer solstice holiday, practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.
I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that Great Britain is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.
By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms:
This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her / himself or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.
Regards
P.S.
Disclaimer: No trees were harmed in the sending of this message; however, a significant number of electrons were slightly inconvenienced.
My faves so far are the rabbit and the hole-punch. The swans are pretty good too.
Isn't it great that there is a nice alliteration theme going on : kids, cats, cars, kitchens and computers!
Poetry anyone?
Eddie,
I think it's time that some of the 'rude' pictures were featured. How about it? Go on!
*sniff* I guess I shall just have to be a bit more patient...
Eddie,
Why has the PM Advent Calendar suddenly become the Snapalendar?
well, I`m still being very patient, but my window on my world has not yet appeared. Has anyone else noticed various repeats? I`m curious to know whether these pictures were sent in twice or mistakenly posted in the galleries twice ... It doesn`t matter either way - I`m just jealous that some folk`ve 2 entries and I haven`t even got my `one`!
OK so I've found the explanation for 'snapalendar' - too many threads to keep up with today.

Thanks awfully, Old Chap.
I have printed a copy and shall keep it by me until June when it will become effective in the UK.
I have also forwarded it to a friend in New Zealand who will be blessed by the summer solstice in just a few days time.
Are you an antipodean, perchance? Not that I'd hold it against you. Well not until we know the outcome of the current cricket series.
Derek (2)
What's this about a summer solstice holiday? Is the Government planning to give a couple of extra Bank holidays in June? Cynics wouild say it's a pre-election bribe, but of course we know that corruption is not allowed in Government. Well, not unless national security is at stake, anyway.
Dr (1)...I'm not sure. What about you?
's an outrageous picture showing just how much certain Great leaders care about your or my opinion, Vyle.
Forget the most outrageous picture - Where are the missing photos?
As you'll have gathered, Eddie, mine's still not up. And it was emailed in at 5.18 on the day in question ..... And acknowledged!
And I've never knowlingly had a strapline up ....
And I'm feeling very sorry for myself.
Eddie ...... Eddie .......
Big Sis, you need an ever bigger sis! Let me console you.
My picture has not appeared although given that it was almost completely black it is no loss to humanity.
The 5pm on 5th Dec was my birthday and I was having a rotten time. Eddie didn't even post my advent picture that day. So I know your pain.
Our day will come, sister.
Mary
Madmary: May I rename you Sister Mary?
Thanks for the sympathy - And a big hug from me, too.
Share Ann P (8) I have no idea why snapalendar.
Big Sis, you may call me Sister Mary if you want!

A silly ditty perhaps AndycroakLucan (3)
We’ve all put our lives out there,
A window on our worlds for all PM-ers to share.
Not so much ‘Planes Trains & Automobiles’,
As kids, cats, kitchens and computers!
Methinks you with your artistic bent would do better & others with their wit should add to the genre; what shall we call it (the genre I mean)?!
My WOTW image is just another kitchen shot, quite boring really, but it is my kitchen and I would dearly love to see it included, soon I hope... waiting patiently and searching various posts and pages to find all the current entries.
Can all the images be found in one place?
Look at the top right hand of the page. You can see links to all of the galleries.
I love seeing people's kitchens. I wish they had put recipes up for the lovely food being cooked.
