Hoping to post some more Hugh

Eddie Mair | 09:25 UK time, Friday, 16 February 2007

snaps later today. Carolyn will be your host for PM tonight while I sit in for Mr Dimbleby on Any Questions - or AQ as they call it. It's AA tomorrow. I don't know whether to have a breakdown or a drink.

What question would you ask the panel this week?

I'd ask the panel if they know how a cat managed to produce the World at One on Wednesday and why the ´óÏó´«Ã½ refuses to answer any questions on this phenomena.

Or, alternatively, what events from their youth they wouldn't want revealed to the Public today. I'd also ask the Chairman that question (but I know I wouldn't get an answer).

BTW, don't you get the 'day' off when you're on evening duties? And will you be on AA tomorrow? Methinks you've been reading the Blog ....

They will no doubt have a researcher to do the Intro link about the building with some boring irrelevant facts about Lancaster -bit like Nicholas does on 'Just a minute'

Perhaps someone with some real local knowledge could post some fascinating facts about Lancaster that Eddie could substitute ?

Here's something for starters: The Judges lodging museum,

Built around 1625, this is reputedly Lancaster’s oldest townhouse and was once home to the chilling witch-hunter Thomas Covell (Pendle Witches 1612), six times Mayor of Lancaster and Keeper of Lancaster Castle for 48 years. In this latter capacity he was responsible for the imprisonment and death of the Lancashire Witches

How come Mr Enos Knibbs was producing on Wednesday? The Froggers on the PM website are well aware he is alive and well and using a catflap in Derbyshire!

I have just received this (anonymous) reply:

'You're right, he is indeed in the Peaks... but I named Mr Knibbs and reserve the right to use his name whenever I choose. Enos Knibbs turned up in our back garden one day. He was a lovely cat and we desperately wanted to keep him, but he bullied the cat we already had, so we gave him to Lissa... With whom he has become rather rotund. He is named after a Jamaican cricket umpire who was around in the 1930s. All the best.'

Some excellent questions here, I note. Bet none of them got asked though.

I like the "anonymous" reply re Mr Knibbs' employment. (We know who you are though...) And fancy blaming Lissa for letting him get big. As the owner of a "rotund" cat myself, sometimes it's impossible to diet them. They just pester til they get fed. Ours goes out & kills things if he's not happy with the meals delivered. Then he brings in the dead stuff, or even the half alive stuff, & lays it out for our delight. I suspect Mr K might be equally strong -willed?
