In China, Hugh
is hard at work. He'll be on the programme tonight. He sends this for froggers:
"You think that's an airport don't you! Well, it's not. It's the main train station at Nanjing, west of Shanghai.
That's Tara (top producer) modelling alongside the new bullet train (two and a half hours to Shanghai instead of three and a half).
And that's an old train, at the next platform.
And those were some of our fellow passengers in SECOND class."
Obviously I always travel first class or higher. And when I am ´óÏó´«Ã½ Chairman, everyone will. Especially people at the ´óÏó´«Ã½.
What a sleek model.....
I see that second class passengers have to sit three abreast - does that mean six abreast altogether?
Did China have the sense to adopt a wider gauge than we have here? Alas for Brunel and the GWR.
Beware of the Spam
Are lap-tops included as well in second class? ;-)
A message to the FrogPrince: When you're Chez Jonnie, don't use the refresh option to send your message - You've just appeared in triplicate!
Eddie: If we sat next to you, we'd travel any class! :o+
Can it be true? Are we really getting there?
Fifi ;o)
No, Anne P - three abreast on one side, two only on the other. A bit cramped. First class - which I wandered into - was two on each side, big wide seats like Business Class in a plane.
Welcome, Hugh S The Hack!
I never notice litter in TV footage in China, despite their ignorance of or indifference to industrial pollution. This may be trivial, but how tidy are people, out and about in cities?
Fifi
Is Tara (top producer) V. tall or is the train standing in a hole?
OOh, 'ello Hugh! Happy hacking!
Rufus (10), I think you'll find that it is on the tracks, whereas Tara is standing on the platform... :-)
Big Sis (3) Shouldn't that be "Care the Spam?"
Hugh - how many of them were emailing the PM website then?
Rufus (10): who cares. She's top.
Sorry to be a traditionalist but are they not Railway stations?
Limo Hire and now Rail Franchsies with nowt but first class carriages. Eddie is going down the transport route big way with his aspirations for the big cheese job.
Fifi 9). Thanks for the welcome. Lots of street cleaners here, with brushes and dustpans on wheels at the end of a broom handles. Clatter Clunk. And motorised street cleaners too - I saw one that washes the safety rail along a main road in Nanjing, by clamping a whizzy brush thing over the top to reach both sides. Stand well back.

And motorised street cleaners too - I saw one that washes the safety rails between the roads and the pavements in Nanjing, by clamping a whizzy brush thing over the top to reach both sides. Stand well back.
