Oh yes, Lord Mair. And soon you'll see the evidence. Which I know you'll love.
Snow? What snow? It's a lovely morning here!
It is just beginning to swirl pathetic little snowflakes here. Nothing settling, nothing to get excited about, although I fully expect the transport system to have crashed already, all the schools to have closed and people using this to dispute the existence of global warming.
Chaffinches on the bird feeders outside my window, but most of the food I put out an hour ago is now covered in snow. Didn't really start here in south Derbyshire until after it got light.
It's days like this that Lissa and family will be glad they moved...
White out here. Only a centimeter or so of snow so far but it is coming down steadily with a strong wind from the south.
Schools closed - a day off (and no pay) for me...
We've had a good dollop of snow in Staffordshire. Son's school is closed. Husband is responsible for roads in a neighbouring Local Authority so he had a very early start and is in for a difficult day.
Morning all, Yep our son's school is shut - I, sadly, have made it in to work due to my very "helpful" SO deciding to give me a lift in his 4 wheel drive truck, how kind of him!! I wanted to stay at home and build a snowman too..........grrr!!
Are you in yet, Eddie? Did the limo arrive on time?
And there I was thinking it was all overblown reporting - always trust Froggers for an honest picture of things!
Its a beaut day in Cornwall...in between the clouds!
Well, we had a couple of inches here in South Oxon, I'll send the photos to Eddie (As I know he likes receiving lots of photos by email!)
Official report from Hertfordshire (via ecologist daughter)
Bushey weather station...
6.8mm of precipitation all of which snow (to a depth of 13.5cm)
Min temp -8’C
Max temp 4’C
It's settling a bit in the northwest, but niece & nephew in Bucks are off school and sledging!!
Quite a bit of snow here in Warwickshire - how about: Snow bound - man survives on pizza and orange juice? Perhaps I'm not taking the snow seriously enough, but then I'm working from home today.
Bright sunshine and frost here, but no snow. I'm jealous!

Why all the coverage about snow? Its winter, it happens. Its been happening for a long time. The real reason there is so much coverage about snow is that journalists love a bit of excitement. I do not think its even about sensationalism. Its simply that journalists love to feel important, love the feeling they are reporting on some disaster, some huge event. It makes their day go faster and then later, after work in the pub, they can brag about how stressfull its been. Really, grow up. If the snow comes down in June, report it, if its artic conditions, report it. Other than that, report on some actual news.
Yes, I can see snow out of the window. I didn't see it happen though.
