Straplines

Eddie Mair | 12:40 UK time, Wednesday, 28 February 2007

Thank you for all those we've received (more came in this morning as it happens) but we need MORE! The news monster loves to eat.

I have literally no idea what the hell that means. Sorry. Strong coffee.

Please send your strapline suggestions to pm@bbc.co.uk. And mark it STRAPLINES, enclosing a cheque for 100 pounds.

What happened to all the straplines suggested months ago? I'm sure they haven't all been used - and some of them were quite clean!

In taht case I'm fair, but perhaps not so energetic.

I sent myself immediately off the naughty step, took my kitchen with me, and have been baking brownies, florentines, bread (granary, herb, and sun-dried-tomato-and-red-leicester-has-to-be-tried-to-be-believed), and everything chocolate-based, ever since.

I tried to re-enter society this evening, but just can't get in. All old links; everything since 25/02 seems to have disappeared. What gives? Have I been barred? Is it a tech glitch (surely not ;-) ) or what? Please will one of the more forgiving beachers please give me the entry code. I have piles of yummy food and can't get to the bar to leave it for you.

If you scroll up you will see it currently reads "Never despair wiith Eddie Mair" and was sent in by Molly

Anna Rex -I think you'll find you need to send Eddie a cheque for 拢100 if you want to get back into the blog. He's getting rather ruthless. I fear it 's the campaign fund for his 大象传媒 Chairman bid. For 拢100, you either get a strapline at the top of the page, (Molly paid up today, & obviously outbid whoever was on for a few hours this morning - like I said, ruthless) or you get any number of entries on the blog for a day.

Of course, if you want a photo posting (did you see my frog brothel ones yesterday?) then I'm afraid you're looking at not a lot of change out of 拢1000. Still - it's worth it!

Humph requested a Poll a few days ago:-

"When it comes to votes, many people are swayed by slogans rather than policies.

There are a number of slogans flying around the Frog, and the related PM program, at the moment but which one gets your vote? NB. You are allowed to vote for your own slogan if it appears in the list."

Here are the latest results based on 30 votes, I think Hugh could do with a few perhaps :-(

    ------------------------------------------------------

"Let the hearing begin? used by Hugh, our foreign correspondent"
    0 of 30 total votes (0%)

"See you on the Ice? used by Eric, editor of the occasional e-mail."
    1 of 30 total votes (3.3%)

"See you on the rice? used by NBP (New blog prince) Marc "
    1 of 30 total votes (3.3%)

"It's your carp? used by J.R. Hartley"
    4 of 30 total votes (13.3%)

"Let the healing begin? used by ED. E. Mair, whoever he is."
    4 of 30 total votes (13.3%)

"It may be crap but it's my crap? Used by Froggers, Lurkers and other People (FLOP)"
    20 of 30 total votes (66.7%)

To add to the vote please go to

The system allows 1 vote per day. Think carefully and remember you must be over 18 to vote.
