    However Bournemouth looked very grubby after a few days in the Netherlands - a few bikes(without lights) intermingled with rows of stationary traffic and empty cans and crisp packets strewn around the grassy verges.

    I really think they have more respect for their country, but it's nice to be back.

    On a broadcasting note, Radio 4 was excellent on Long wave, and all the Dutch have ´óÏó´«Ã½1 and ´óÏó´«Ã½2 on their tellies. This mystifies me as to the copyright situations we are always told about. All the website listen again links worked on my sisters Tiscali Internet connection, so perhaps Holland has a special agreement. I'd be interested in an explanation one day?

    Do I detect a note of cynicism in your comments above. I have to say that the majority of Dutch people I met were very warm and helpful, however I'm not German,-- well a quarter of me is.

    I suspect that it’s probably a generation problem and hopefully these incidents are becoming less frequent, however as you are a Dutchman I respect your view.

    The Safari - I've heard of it and had a look at the website. It's in a central location, which is good but may be a little noisy. Whenever we book a Hotel I always check to see how they score with:-

    There you can see the top hotels, rated in order as marked by the general public.
    I've noticed they haven't had any reviews, but that's not a negative thing. It really comes to making up a judgement from their website Appy.
