In response to the news about the fancy new website, I've just had a look. I have to say, it looks rather serious, but once I started reading Eddie's new bio, oh how I laughed. That is the best CV I have read anywhere. But someone should have told Carolyn hers is way too professional and worthy. If she's going to work with that crazy gang at PM, she needs to measure up in the wacky stakes.

Great links to all the other relevant news sites and listen again stuff too. I thought the purple was a bit heavy, but maybe it's some sort of corporate news branding image? Anyway, as a complete technophobe, I'm deeply impressed. Well done whichever irritatingly clever geek put it all together. I'm not coming across as jealous & embittered am I?

Mmm - alas the CV, Annasee is full of predicatable lies and dishonesty.

    For starters :-

    Hi, Annasee!

    Frances O - the address is www.bbc.co.uk/pm

Or you can just click on the link below Eddie's photo!

Hm, Eddie, I seem to recall commenting on the new website, on 20th July. And I even emailed to compliment you and the team.

"Congrats, Eddie, on the wonderful new webpage - At Last!!!!!!

But, the best bit is, of course, your bio. Brilliant! I shall flag it up on the Blog (when that starts to behave again)

"All he really craves is love" - Well, there's plenty of that, Eddie (and I don't mean that in any creepy way). You are much valued."

Was I ahead of the game? ;o)

Ah, Eddie, those Powers that Be! I remember it well from the days when I was asked to do similar things, replied that we'd already got feedback and that asking would only upset people, yet being told to go ahead regardless.

Pawns in their hands, that's what we are, Eddie! Never mind, the main thing is people like it - and in particular your autobiography. Perhaps you could rewrite Carolyn's for her?

RJD - don't wish to make you paranoid, but clicking the link below the photo worked for me. Perhaps it's something personal, & you've been barred from the site? But only you...

  13. At 01:39 PM on 31 Jul 2007, wrote:

No, RJD, it doesn't. It's a 403 on your browser, but it doesn't always. the link in the source code is

  14. The PM programme
  15. or href="/pm/"

and it seems to depend upin the state of your browser's idea of which url directory it's in.

or possibly a bbc 'forbidden' to keep us from backtracking for some stupid reason.

It would be easy to fix in the code, simply by providing a full URL.....[doh!]

I can't find anything except a 403 either, and back to work now, so....Do you mean the twitter link? Dunno what that's all about either, you have to sign up for it?

and I'm being malicious? I haven't had that one for ages

  17. At 02:18 PM on 31 Jul 2007, wrote:

Nope, RJD, you and I are both excluded.

Here, have a placard. We shall march around in a mini-demonstration:

    "Let in.... etc"

The one I told you about last week or so.

In the source code it's a 'relative' link, which doesn't always work. (see 13, 14, 15 above)

It's so long since I've visited the web page I can't really tell if this is an improvement. Sorry. I like the developing cult of personality, though. And I love the biog. Tell Carolyn that hers is desperately out of date and far too modest. She's playing with the big girls now and should tell a few lies just to keep up. It's ´óÏó´«Ã½ policy now, after all.

I've been away for a week or two and wrote a pointless blog postcard which I forgot to post. How pointless is that? If I find it when I unpack, I might still send it. But if I do, will it still qualify as pointless?

How perfectly typical of Eddie Mair to jump onto a little story about David Cameron and a party donor who is desperate to become a peer, and offers a 'labour party style' bribe. It's typical of the labour luvvy ´óÏó´«Ã½ to try and smear the conservatives at every opportunity. I wouldn't be surprised if this asian guy hadn't been put up to it by the labour party in the first place.
There are more important things going on in this world today than trying to smear the conservatives at every opportunity.
In Afghanistan, Muslim murderers are killing Christians, using them as pawns to try and get other Muslim murderers freed. Why isn't there a big story on that, or is the politically correct multicultural ´óÏó´«Ã½ frightened of upsetting a tiny minority of vociferous and oft violent people who have decided England is the country, they wish to invade and turn into a Muslim enclave.

In Afghanistan, Christian (and possibly Jewish and Hindu and agnostic) soldiers are killing Muslims, using them as pawns to try and get control of the opium market.

It would be far cheaper to just buy the crop, and much less bloody.
