Tomorrow night, Chris Hogg
our man in Tokyo (you remember the Harry Potter pics) will bring us a piece "about the use of the internet in elections..... is nothing whatsoever to do with it, but it's a YouTube clip of a party political broadcast by a candidate in the recent elections for Tokyo Governor.
Needless to say he lost."
Not sure if I find him scary, or just think the Japanese system admirable for letting him have his say. Can't see it happening here!
And did you notice that the Japanese use the English for 'scrap', 'poster' and 'system' ?
Anarchists unite! - no chance.
Eddie,
Thanks for that. Brilliant video! Shame he lost. One of the most sensible campaign speeches I've ever seen.
Yours Aye,

Well, Eddie, there are a few pointers there for when you next stand for the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Director Generalship. I like the bit about destroying the country because the reforms won't work. Is that directly translatable to the Land of ´óÏó´«Ã½?
Probably not. But, then again, I couldn't see you 'freaking out' either.
Has the ´óÏó´«Ã½ got shares in You Tube, btw?
...he later stood in Bethnal Green and Bow. And won...!!
Anne P,
Their language is almost indecipherable to the novice, and while watching TV, every so often an English word like "kodakinstamaticcamera" occurs....
I also noticed system and scrap (I wondered if it was an added 's').

Ah but what colour shirt will Chris be wearing this time? ´óÏó´«Ã½ light blue, pink or other?
I particularly liked the martial Mussolini-like chin movement at the very end.
Not someone one can wish a bad hair day though.
Wow, what a character! A combination of Victor Meldrew and Nosferatu.
Just as well he isn't standing here, or people WOULD vote for him just out of morbid curiosity.
