Weather update:
from Isobel:
I'm sure you don't want to see this if you're sitting in the rain in London, but this is the current view from the roof of my building (where we have a weather station)...as I write the weather station is reporting the current temperature as 34.3c
And this is as it was yesterday evening just before I left work......
V comforting to still listed to R4 weather forecasts about rain in Maidenhead though!
1253 UPDATE:
"Up here on Riddlesdown - that's in the parish of Sanderstead, which is part of Purley, which is in the GL borough of yer actual Croydon - we had 65mm of heavy rain from about 10 o'clock for a couple of hours with thunder & lightning: the thunder was very low frequency; I enjoyed it. Right now at 12.45 the Sun's out & it looks like the rain, as predicted, is off to the north. The Metcheck website has crashed due, presumably, to the huge number of us trying to access it. Cheers, Norman Fitch"
1410 UPDATE: a colleague sends this: You need to update your daily email. THIS
man is currently enjoying a brief break in the clouds RIGHT outside your window!
I see from the weather station that your office is now in Rome!
I'm about as interested in the weather in the South East as I am in George Galloway's underwear.
Aperitif (2)
Well I mean really!
Ap - We could read that as total disinterest or bordering on fascination!
How do you know he has any?
RJD (4), When you say "disinterest" I think you might mean something else... Sorry to be a pedant but that's one of my Pet Hate Misuses!
Ap - That will teach me to respond too quickly when I think I'm funny. But I think you could still be impartial on a discussion on Gorgeous George's nether garments.
I take it you are fascinated then! :o)
Whoever did George @ 3 - BRILLLIANT!
Oh Aperitif, come swiftly to the Beach and allow me to peel you grapes and assume a posture of gratitude and admiration for your defence of the innocent 'disinterested'.
Hello Everyone,
I have just had a very interesting leaflet dropped through my letterbox. It explains a proposed development of new housing on a flood plain here, in the town of Otley, West Yorkshire.
A website with all the relevant information can be found at: web.mac.com/corc1
Home-buyers for such a development should supply their own sand-bags.
It is only very recently that residents have been protesting against plans to fence off the riverside park as we are all too stupid not to throw ourselves in to the rushing waters of the Wharfe. Putting housing so close really would be tempting fate, don't you think?
RJD (7) I suppose I would find the idea that said irritant had been silenced by having his underwear thrust into his mouth interesting, but otherwise...
Chris (9), Why thank you! On my way back right now!
