I'm not certain, because

Eddie Mair | 17:03 UK time, Saturday, 18 August 2007

Friday was its usual chaos as we careered towards airtime at 17.00.

But I think some froggers may have sent us something.

There are cards and parcels in my drawer. Details and proper thanks to follow upon opening. But in the meantime - thank you.

Bless you for that 'careered' -- all too often these days people get that wrong and use 'careened' instead, and that's always such a silly image. :-)

Eddie, if one of the parcels contains something valuable, then that's from me and I sent it by mistake. Can I have it back please?

They may well have gone off if you haven't opened them yet...

    More lies!

So being into technology I've signed up to the ´óÏó´«Ã½ iplayer trial

-- download what you want and watch it when you want it!

Did that - but (as said) won't run on vista - as installed on laptop.

Spent half an hour waiting on XP machine in reception - and all I get is Status queued!

I give up - I eben tried to download an Indian cooking show (as an experiment) from last wednesday! -- Nothing!

Oh well - it did say beta! -- anyway basically more lies - and if Peter and his friends really think that Blog prog is going to work - well ! hahah

    Hahahahahahaa!

odd - not much going on here... maybe everyone is (are?) somewhere else.

However, just wanted to say to Fifi that I didn't send you my address in time. Sorry - but thanks for the thought of whatever you did do for everyone!!

Jonnie, I have used Iplayer twice. It worked both times. Took an age to download the progs and currently it has to be XP and IE. COmpatibility or what (I'm using it on XP media edition laptop core 2 duo 1 gig ram intel graphics)

First day I booted PC after watching something PC had to be re booted in "last stable conficuration" option . May have been the iPlayer, May have been me removing the laptop battery. Second thing I've watched was fine. Not downloaded since.

Image Quality seems good though i am using a 12.1" screen. Choice of progs, reasonable. Lots of stuff you expect to be there isnt. Have another try... Its the BEEB its what they do.

I take it all back -

I expected an instant download on the iplayer.

Yesterday morning I had all my downloads there - good qaulity and found a simple workaround to get it running on the Vista Laptop.

Very impressive - as I'm sure the new Blog Prog will prove to be.

Oh and hopefully - there is a link on the beach to the froggers song, as I've tried three times today! - I won't link to it here - as that may be the problem that the posts aren't getting through - but ....

    FROGGERS SONG ...

is on the blogextra site (Froggers refuge) scroll up and it's on Eddie's link where he says:

    Chat to Fellow Froggers

Then click on 'the beach' tab and finally click on the MP3 link.

Then wait for at least one minute till it plays. It's at a high-ish bit rate and the file is 5MB

Wow - the Song in all its loveliness! Thank you, it fair cheered up my morning.

Now about F*ref*x, why does it forget all my details every time I switch off? Not just those above, but in other places too. I bet it's something obvious I haven't done/or have done :o(

Thanks for that Vyle - will try to find out. Whatever it is that makes it forget everything, it's dashed annoying....I do a really good job of forgetting everything myself without the pc doing it for me. F'rinstance I can't get back into fl*ckr because I can't remember my username or y*hoo id or whatever it is that it wants......
