Now really there was no need for this
in today's Guardian.
"Radio 4's PM has a highly enjoyable website, thanks to the droll musings of Eddie Mair. But the inclusion of "PM Team Photos" seems misguided. Part of this label is made unreadable by a dark background, so it appears to say "PMT Photos"; and the only faces on show are those of Martha Kearney, Carolyn Quinn and a mystery blonde."
It's me ok? Can't a man change his style?
BTW Rupert is in charge today but he had a big celebration at the weekend. If you're very lucky he might tell you about it later in the glass box.
Yes, Eddie, of course they can change their style, but a quick excursion with Paint just now has convinced me that, in your case, they shouldn't.
You'll be relieved to know, therefore, that I'm not sending the results to you.
Stay as sweet as you are.
I don't get what they are on about?
However - hunting for the article I came across this from the Guardian about that man that Joe Palooka is aways waffling about:-
It's sunny down here and the time is exactly 11:18
I'll look forward to reading my comment in a little while :-)
Jonnie - me either? Where they really looking at this site
Could this be the photo they meant?
... Alternatively, they may have been viewing the Blog on a 'Blue Day'.
Out of interest, how does the Blog appear in Firefox, or any of the other formats that froggers use? Here, in IE, it has a mid blue header with pale blue right hand column and white main column.
I think he is looking at this site and the pictures on the right. Must be something wrong with his browser or settings. The "Mystery Blonde" I assume to be Carrie.
Hey! Did you see what I did there? Did Ya? Used my skill and judgement to post (6) just at the right time so that when I said "on the right" it was exactly to the right of my message!
Of course if any other later messages arrive and push my present (6) further down, this will look stupid. Won't it? I'm going on too much about this - aren't I? I should stop, eh? OK . . . . .
Mystery solved - on IE (where the colours are much the same as Firefox) the label 'More PM Team Photos' appears under the photos, but in Firefox it runs across from the middle over the one top right. Ergo the Grauniad person is using Firefox!
Of course it was Carrie, RJD! But, believe me, Eddie shouldn't trade his trusty No. 0 (Is that correct?) haircut.
Of course, we all know how fine he looked with a Becks way back - but I think Mr. Beckham now favours Eddie's current style, no doubt because he's such a fan of the great Mair.
RJD (6) & (7)...
....clever cloggs....
...and the 3 Grauniad readers can't be wrong can't they...
ttfn....Independentelicious......init?
In an effort to curb malicious.....no it's not.....The Independent is a serious organ of the news an comment.......discuss
Anne P (8):
In Safari, the heading runs over the RH-most photo as well. (It does seem to say "More PM T", I've just been too polite to mention it.) Therefore, the Grauniad is undoubtedly using Apple Macs.
Then again, maybe not. When I hover my mouse over the Mysterious Blonde, I get a little yellow box with Carrie's name in. Does that work in firefox? Maybe Grauniad Journos are just to busy to hover over pictures...
Yup, with Firefox you can hover and get the name.
.....and that's not malicious neither.....
SSC (11) I doubt if theyt are too busy to hover their mouse, just - well - too clever.
And on the subject of 50,000, if those who tend to write long posts were to cut them up into smaller bits, we'd reach the milestone sooner (if we haven't already). And why isn't a running count displayed on the Frog anyway? They must have it somewhere, and, unlike the individual comments counter, it must work.
But this isn't the PM Website; it's the PM Blog. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Guardian writer!
:-)
I have just tested the hovering in Opera, and it not only displays the title but also the complete URL of the image.
The Grauniad people probably have their own tailored version of Firephlox, with built-in typos.
Eeek! Sequin's picture has disappeared!
Is this a Grauniad plot?
Has Eddie had her expunged?
Has she run away to join ´óÏó´«Ã½7?
Is there a minor technical problem with the server/my browser? Probably.
Surely it's just coincidence that the main PM page (bbc.co.uk/radio4/pm or bbc.co.uk/pm) is currently displaying a "403 Forbidden" error...
I would imagine the Graun uses Macs. After all, it's in the biz of DTPing, isn't it?
