Sometimes,

Eddie Mair | 07:53 UK time, Friday, 14 September 2007

maybe once or twice in your life, you see a sunset so stunning - so....mesmerising....that you wish you could capture it for all to see.

Incredibly, I was able to snap this at around 7 last night, at work.

Paradise.

Carolyn - you are truly lucky to be there today.

I think I can see what you mean, Eddie, though sadly the camera hasn't served you as well as you might have liked.

But I know what you mean - Some sunsets take your breath away.

Eddie - If you're reading this - Perhaps you could send us a Scottish sunset tonight? If it doesn't interfere with your recording? Or perhaps one of the crew could take it on your behalf? I've just checked the weather forecast for Dunfermline - light showers with some sunshine, and the sunset is at 19.38 (I think that usually refers to the time the sun disappears from the horizon, so the colours will begin before then - Correct me, froggers, if you know otherwise!)

If you're staying up there for the weekend, take your brolly, for rain is forecast for Saturday and Sunday.

ah but FF you can make images better by not using the auto settings on you camera. Saying that, it is a good sunset. Must try and find a one I've done.

You may (or may not) be interested to know that if you go up in an aeroplane you can see circular rainbows (given the usual sun+rain thing).

I always find that photos of rainbows never do the original justice.

David McNickle (17) - Sorry to be disagreeable, but you didn't drive under the end of a rainbow, at least not one that YOU could see. Somebody else might have seen you do it, but you couldn't have seen yourself do it!

Stewart M (16) - I use about 10% of the functions that it provides. It came "free" as part of the company deal with service provider. It will "trickle down" the company when I get an even better one next year - I'll probably only use 5% of the functions of that one.
