most of our conference production team are ill. They are carrying on, of course, in the Reithian spirit.

We're getting increasingly excited about iPM. In the coming days on the programme we're going to talk more about our new photo thing - in which we want people to take a picture that represents themselves. Specifically, we'll talk about our sense of selves. Philosophy. Oh yes.

I hope you're having a think about what photo would represent YOU. I was thinking about what snap I would take. Of a microphone? Of my gob? Dunno. Once you get thinking about it, it can get rather deep. Who am I? Who are YOU? Think about your photo.

And talking of iPM, I hope to introduce you later to the man they call Mr Blog.

Ah that Reithian ethic.. inform, educate, vomit and entertain.
Now a pile of sick that would be a great i photo !!
It would represent a lot of people I can think of, especially the bits of carrot.

I'd rather not think about what represents me today - with this evil cold it'd be rather unpleasant!

hmmmm I've been pondering the photo thingy too. You can get quite deeply engrossed in what is, ultimately, a pointless idea, but a d*mned fine one nethertheless :)

FF - it is quite engrossing. Firstly trying to figure out what 'I' means then how to represent 'I-ness'. Then how to take a picture of it and send it - which I fear may be the most challenging part of the whole process!

Oh, I get it. It's iPM, so they want to know who/what 'i' is. Or am.

Just spotted the latest example of "i-philia"... on a billboard.

A certain South Korean car company have launched a model called the i30 - and they've made it clear the 'i' is used in the same sense as I / Me / Mine.

Just at a time when Microsoft have finally decided that the practice of prefixing system folders with "My" (a precursor to 'i' that also sounds similar) - as in My Computer / My Documents / My Music / My Pictures / My Videos etc. - is universally derided.

blimey! Haven't been around for a while so thought I'd trawl back and see what had been going on! and reading this caused quite a bit of deja vu!!

I was best man for a friend of mine a year or so ago and the wedding was in Aus where i knew that many of his friends and family couldn't get to.

So, I thought I'd create a collage of photos for him of all his friends. Thinking that I'd inspire them to creative heights I suggested:

"I thought it would be nice if the friends could be represented at the wedding in some way, and I have an idea. How about if everyone who knows him takes a photo that is recognisably "them". Obviously this could be a picture of your own face, or something more lateral, like a picture of an egg with glasses if you're as bald as I am now. Something he'll recognise as "you".

    Sound similar?

the results I got were..... portraits. asically people's favourite pics of themselves. Which was kinda difficult to collage but in the end I think he was really touched by it!
