Well I came down for an early stroll this morning and the beach was closed! (well 502'd) shame as i'd brought my camping gas cooking, frying pan and bacon & eggs - sorry had to move on and come back and haven't got them with me now.
anyway Witchi hope you get 5 mins to have quiet 5 mins relax here before going into work to have THAT conversation! will be thinking of you. :-)
Oh the waves are looking wonderful this morning
have a good day all.
millie x
502'd again, & again & again & again - and I've probably missed Witchi now!!!! Sorry Witchi I did start trying at 05.40!! millie x
Morning to all here on the beach. ((((FRUGS)))) to ww and to Appy. I shall disappear to the local store and get you a selection of muffins, biscuits, and some crisps to snack on.....
I feel pretty guilty not washing those breakfast dishes before coming out here to surf!
Oh what a day for 502's :-(
Oh arse - missed the new beach and have been 502'd so will repeat myself here (as I seem to be doing there...)
do you believe it 502'd!!
Well, I wrote a lovely post so will try again, apologies for any duplication...
Appy - I hope things are less raw today.
The deed is done but Boss/Dad fell yesterday and broke his shoulder so I had to ring him this morning with the news - reaction: 'put it in writing'. Am sure there will be further come back once the pain killers have warn off in 6 weeks time (in which case I won't be here anyway!).
Val - thank you for the scarf, it matched perfectly! And SP the stone was very reassuring and quite beautiful.
And the biggest of big frugs and thanks to you all. I did feel a burst of strength on the way in this morning. I feel truly blessed to know such generous, special people.
Now, who's for champagne?
And again!
Cafe 502 is doing a roaring trade again.....thanks Eddie
Good on yer, Witchi girl. Sock it to 'em! More shampoo, please.
Now. What I want more than ANYthing else this morning is a 502. Pleeeeease can I have one?
Fifi *flutters eyelashes fetchingly*

... oh, splendid. Got my wish. Lucky Fifi!
poor Appy - Hope you can pop down to the Frogfest -
I have a large bottle of Bombay - just for you :-)
Witchi - I see we are in 502land again today, but I'm so glad your newspost got through. Well done girl, glad you weren't diverted by the googly that fate threw at you in the shape of a broken shoulder - have you written the letter yet?Onward and upward.
Appy - sorry to hear you blue, so to speak, other channels of communication still open if you wish. Meantime, let's all have another bottle of shampoo, it is after 1pm at least.
I'm awaiting the surprise delivery of my childhood piano - it's a surprise because Big Bro has had a sudden offer on his house (ex childhood home) with the proviso they flit by Tuesday! Their new place doesn't have room for the piano (and other stuff :o(), and I couldn't see it slipping out of the family......Remind me again when is this Big New Building in the Garden for the stashing of Clutter to be ready??
I'm off to move a couple of bookcases to see where the piano might fit - I'll be back for more shampoo and moral support later!
oh, and a 502 of course....
I shall post this on the 502 thread, because it seems appropriate, and on the Beach, just because I feel like it.
I shan't let up until I am sure it has got to one or even both places. I am starting at about a quarter past one on Friday afternoon...
It goes to the tune of "London Pride", by Noel Coward.
Five-oh-two haunts our own dear blog today
Five-oh-two is a place we know well
Five-oh-two means to every frog today
All the things that we never can tell.
Woa, techies, giving explanation
Raising expectation; it鈥檚 a feeble jest!
Woa, techies, there is consternation
In among the lilypads we care for best.
Froggers鈥 posts could go down in history
Ev鈥檙y one might have something to say.
Nothing ever can quite replace
The words we鈥檒l lose today.
Things we wanted to impart forced to die unspoken,
Failing in the internet when the blog is broken.
Tho鈥 it鈥檚 given other names, this is surely true:
On the blog we call it five-oh-two.
Five-oh-two haunts our own dear blog today
Five-oh-two is a place we know well
Five-oh-two means to every frog today
All the things that we never can tell.
Hey camels, when the day is dawning
You can go on yawning till the afternoon.
Hey camels, first thing in the morning,
Hear your footsteps echo on the empty dune.
Ev鈥檙y try to bring joy or laughter is
Sure to die in a virtual fog
Nothing ever can break on through
And reach the PM blog.
In a place deserted now, ghostly and unpleasant,
We can only see our past from this shadowed present.
All of us with words of comfort, frivolous or true,
Greet with resignation five-oh-two.
Five-oh-two haunts our own dear blog today
Five-oh-two is a place we know well
Five-oh-two means to every frog today
All the things that we never can tell.
Post conclave, casually planted,
Taken so for granted for a carefree year!
Ghost enclave, savagely supplanted,
Cradle of our memory and hope and fear...
All this faff our resistence toughening
Makes us sure in the end we鈥檒l get through
Somehow froggers will over-write
The blight of five-oh-two.

I battled the 502 demons, only to find I had missed the new beach...grr! Oh well please excuse the duplication (if this ever gets past 502 no. 3!)
Ok, 2nd attempt! those lovely 502's are back!!
Good morning one and all and big (((frugs))) to all in need - in particular Appy and Witchi.
And if you don't mind Witchi, I will gladly take you up on the offer of some champagne - let me just fetch a glass and pull up a sun lounger, Time to chill I think...
By the way have to say I love the little quotes
Ed I usually puts at the end of his posts. I cannot claim to be anywhere near the same ballpark as Ed in terms of how well read or knowledgeable I am but if you don't mind I would like to share with you all one of my very favourite quotes, and one which I feel applies to me
"with my luck the day my ship comes in I'll be waiting at the airport"
Charlie Brown

Young men and young women may work systematically six days in the week and rise fresh in the morning, but let them attend modern dances for only a few hours each evening and see what happens. The Waltz, Polka, Gallop and other dances of the same kind will be disastrous in their effects to both sexes. Health and vigor will vanish like the dew before the sun.
It is not the extraordinary exercise which harms the dancer, but rather the coming into close contact with the opposite sex. It is the fury of lust craving incessantly for more pleasure that undermines the soul, the body, the sinews and nerves. Experience and statistics show beyond doubt that passionate excessive dancing girls can hardly reach twenty-five years of age and men thirty-one. Even if they reached that age they will in most instances be broken in health physically and morally. This is the claim of prominent physicians in this country.
-- Quote from a 1910 periodical
If the very old will remember, the very young will listen.

Apologies of course for the lack of Glass Box. I simply didn't want to encourage further disappointment with more infuriating 502s. We live in hope.
I DO hope you've found time to look at the new photos on the ipm blog. I love seeing the ideas and the comments and the listeners.
Can I have a coffee at the 502?
Eddie, I have sent a runner with some blue Mountain for you; trying to do it via blog right now might take too long.
God's Blessing upon you, I think it's called.
But the post that never got here was sincere as well.
good evening peeps...Cafe 502 has been redecorated and is now open for business again. If you can't find it at NC's...you will here.
Despite rumours that the Du*ch were going to ask the laydee to no longer sit in the window I have managed to win the appeal so she stays!
Anyhoo to celebrate I have a fine selection of continental Lagers to try....all free to Froggers...enjoy....
oohhhh......502.....now that is a good brew..
If anyone sees that Eddie bloke loitering around looking all sheepish...tell him there is the worlds biggest Foffy Coffee at 502 for him...
I hope this gets through Witchi and Appy -
(((((frugs)))))) to you both, you're obviously in need, sorry it's so late.
Witchi - what courage and strength you have, well done you.
Appy - what a b*gg*r, you just can't help those feelings can you? There should be a pill.
Izz xx
OK
I've been away all day but will update the PM Refuge site first thing in the morning.
Eddie - please email me if I can help?
In the early evening - as was tonight - many of us chat on the camstreams site - via my name - otherwise - chek the Froggers refuge!
It's still takes comments - and hopefully keeps us together
No-one's around. Maybe your're all being 502d or perhaps you've something better to do. I've just dropped in at the Refuge and no-one's there either. I guess it's the rugby keeping you enthralled.
Life's a bu**er, isn't it. So I just thought I would drop in to see you - I often peep in but haven't anything worthy to say so I creep out again.
Anyway, I've brought down a crate from W**trose's Wine Direct to share. When the rugby's over, that is.
How's things? Hope all of you are blooming - Fifi, Big Sis, Fearless, Jonnie ...
Hello Sara! I think everyone has gone to 502. Even the camels are looking a bit inclined to sidle away round a dune...
But maybe now that England has won they'll feel more like a bit of beach-fun...
"we're going to Wem,erm, Stade de France!!"
:-))))

Let's say your wedding ring falls into your toaster, and when you stick your hand in to retrieve it, you suffer Pain and Suffering as well as Mental Anguish. You would sue:
* The toaster manufacturer, for failure to include, in the instructions section that says you should never never never ever stick you hand into the toaster, the statement "Not even if your wedding ring falls in there".
* The store where you bought the toaster, for selling it to an obvious cretin like yourself.
* Union Carbide Corporation, which is not directly responsible in this case, but which is feeling so guilty that it would probably send you a large cash settlement anyway.

I tried several times the other morning to post my sincere and individualised thanks for all the hugs and kind words. I was 502d beyond belief. It's as if the mods want me to appear to be an ungrateful misery. I am not. I'm a grateful misery. Cheers chums.
I also tried to proffer words of encouragement for Witchi -- thanks goodness for FaceBook (there's a pharse I've never used before, and for which I can see no further need...)
Who's going to join me for birthday drinks late Wednesday night? It'll be the anniversary of the first beach party too :-)
Francis O (42)
we were hoping that jonnie had them......

Ah we're back again, has the storm of 502s passed for another day and the sun shines once more...
I brought some beers on Friday night but I wasn't allowed on the beach because of the 502 storm. I wanted to toast getting my first ever comment read out on the programme and I couldn't! Ah well never mind - the beers are still chilled so help yourselves folks
Oh, and Ed I - am still loving those quotes :)
Fiona x
just done a diving tackle on Fifi and drop kicked on. Its league in yorkshire you know, though I played union (badly) at school
Now WHO kicked the ball up there?
That camel's looking *really* cross.
I'm retiring to the Bar for a glass of Vino - white, anyone?
okay, my fault, I'll climb that tree. Anyone want a coconut while I'm up there?
Oh! GossipM, I was playing with a different ball. There is no way I'm retrieving that one. No wonder the camel's eyes are crossed.
I like this place. It reminds me of
Only if you climb it properly, Stewart. I'll hold your coat.

I forgot. The frog hates more than one link at a time.
relates to an excellent Adventure in Poetry this afternoon.
Worth following up. As is the link at my name.
morning peeps from Blackpool......oh.....nice nuts Stewart M.......
.......tea / coffee, toast and marmalades at NC's to fuel another Monday morn....
Stewart M (51)
I don't suppose you could explain the difference, for someone who used to play union at school and has been too lazy ever since to find out the difference himself?
Okay, fair enough ... 5 minutes more kip, then some coffee.
Sid
I see that I stayed in caf茅 502 too long, and I missed out on the beach rugby :( oh rugger*
Thanks for the coffee DI. I needed it this morning. I'll be organising a sweetshop run later on this morning, so leave your requests on the piece of paper in the NCMB.
Appy, of yourse I'll join in the drinkies on Wednesday!
*borrowed Fifi Ryming Slang
Is it the weekend yet?
sorry sid. league is a supposedly a faster game with fewer players. I have very little need of watching grown men playing with their balls.
My nuts have won prizes you know diY
Morning!
Well, I'll keep this brief as I'm guessing blog is still bu**ered. Who's for a hot beverage of their choice? I'd offer pancakes but the cooking facilities aren't so great in That Room We Dare Not Name....oh, only we have. See you in Cafe 502!
I was just thinking, "The Intermittent Horse" reminds me of someone else who used to write on this blog. From N.Ireland. Then I clicked the link to Laytown. You're not by any chance a N Irish horse, are you, Intermittent? (or even, intermittently?)
Annasee (64) - I think you'll find that the are mechanised these days and wouldn't have use for a long in the tooth Intermittent Horse like me.
And I can't keep up with the youngsters at Laytown either! So I just come to this beach for a bit of relaxation and the odd canter - intermittently of course.
Just gone 2pm, and I've waved DIY bye-bye after our lunch date.
Ooooh, the beans he spilled re Humph's antics a month or two back......!
Fifi ;o)
Fifi (66) re DIY - Had he brushed his beard? Did he slurp his soup?? Did he bring you a little stick of Blackpool rock???
Anyone for crumpets?
Gillian (67) : I have signed a lengthy Confidentiality Agreement so I couldn't possibly comment on the immaculacy of his face-furniture (yes he had) nor his table manners (no he didn't).
The lavishly-wrapped and jewel-encrusted Faberg茅 gift he brought is adorning my fridge door (right next to your Froggy F, Gillian) even as I blab!
Fifi ;o)
WW!!! Oops, I mis-read that. I'm off to the naughty step....
FF - its a good job I didn't mention anything about slathering them with butter then.

hi peeps...back in Norfolk again....had luncheon with a fellow frogger and her SO......very good it was..two courses....spag bol and tea..!
Feefs, you do a wonderful Spag B..and no I won't tell everyone that you forgot I was coming for lunch!!
You plans for turning your rear garden into a golf driving range have been submitted so 'Dave' will have somewhere to knock his balls about..
thanks for lunch Feefs ((((x))))
DiY :) (big cheesy grin)
YUM!
It's useless to try to hold some people to anything they say while they're madly in love, drunk, or running for office.
Gah! ww(71) Now you've condemned me to an evening on the naughty step!
WHAT BEANS????????? There were no beans to spill after my meeting with DI and any suggestion from Fifibber to the contrary should be taken with a bucket of salt.
H.
H (76)
...just remember...I have the negatives me ol' mucker!
Good grief - are we allowed to post things again?
Got back from Florida yesterday and suffering from jetlag. Not the best way to start (another) new job this morning really, was it?
cooeee!!!
frisbee?
Or is that just a coat-hanger in your mouth?!!!

Jason (78) Welcome back......but you can't just breeze in like this, tell us you've got another new job, and then scarper!
Now settle yourself down here on these plumped-up cushions, tell me what you'd like from the NCBar, and start talking!!!!!
Humph , DIY and Fifi - there's someone else here who has beans to spill! ;o)
DI (77) You have negatives from a digital camera?? Hmmm, I thought not (pun intended ;o) )

Supreme Court Gives Gore's Nobel to Bush
Stunning Reversal for Former Veep
By Andy Borowitz
Just days after former Vice President Al Gore received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts on global warming, the United States Supreme Court handed Mr. Gore a stunning reversal, stripping him of his Nobel and awarding it to President George W. Bush instead.
For Mr. Gore, who basked in the adulation of the Nobel committee and the world, the high court's decision to give his prize to President Bush was a cruel twist of fate, to say the least.
But in a 5-4 decision, the justices made it clear that they had taken the unprecedented step of stripping Mr. Gore of his Nobel because President Bush deserved it more.
"It is true that Al Gore has done a lot of talking about global warming," wrote Justice Antonin Scalia, writing for the majority. "But President Bush has actually helped create global warming."
Even as Mr. Gore was being stripped of his Nobel, he received strong words of support from Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who said that the former vice president's Nobel win "shows that he is devoting his life to the right thing and should definitely stay the course."
In an interview with reporters in Iowa, Sen. Clinton said that "Al Gore should remain dedicated to the cause of global climate change, at least through November of 2008."
Sen. Clinton suggested that Mr. Gore could further research the source of global warming by immediately boarding a rocket ship to the sun.
morning peeps, a bit dull and wet in October so I will be holding kicking practice on the beach ready for the weekend......can anyone remember where the () ball ended up?
In the mean time cheesy scrambled eggs and toast is available at NC's, along with tea and coffee.
H (81)
drat and double drat, my not so cunning plan foiled at the very begining!
Sorry folks but this will once more be a Fifiless beach today.
1. Meeting in deepest Leicestershire will take up most of the day
2. Standing in as host at a pal's folk night in deepest Rutland tonight
There's still a little Spag Bol left, nicely matured from yesterday, if anyone's peckish later on .. just enough for a nice topping on a baked tattie, methinks.
Jason (78) : Here's a damp sponge, dear. You seem to have spilt some of your own beans...
Fifi xx
I am just going down to Cafe 502 to do a spot of cleaning, need to keep the place in tip top condition, just in case.....
I as thinking of giving it a bit of a make over, does anyone know anything about makeovers?
Gillian, I know you are real whizz with 'doing things' with curtains (hence my new dandy Speedos) could you run up three pairs. I'll leave it to you to decide on material and styles.
Anyone else out there that wants to contribute ideas / help would be appreciated!!
However we must remember that Cafe 502 must not detract anything form NC's....502 is for emergency use only......bit like a fallout shelter!
DiY:o)
OK.....solar powered oven is on and chock a block full of Cara, Marfona & Estima tatties, should be ready by lunchtime.....
...for more Spud info.......follow me name!
Morning all, it's a bit gloomy so I am in definite need of some toast and a big mug of tea, thanks DI for getting the breakfast on the go. Also, I am no good at making things but I am a bit of a dab hand at cleaning so I'll bring my old trust Henry hoover down and give you a hand if you like. As for ideas well we seem to be spending an alarming amount of time in there of late so I think a couple of big comfy sofas are definitely required.
Can I lay claim to a lounger? I'm afraid I'm going to have to be the Josh Lewsey of the Beach, as I managed to strain a tendon in my foot last night. Consequently I'm hobbling around in October like someone twice my age :(
Morning all -
After a glorious start to the day (beautiful clear skies with start a twinkling early this morning) its now a bit grey and damp in Cornwall, so have popped in for some sun. Anyone for some fresh pineapple juice?
Feefs - hope it all goes well today x
What ho all!
Just a quick visit to the Beach - I'm mega busy at the moment, what with one thing and another. So just time to don my new Cross of St George knotted handkerchief, roll up my trousers and go for a quick paddle.
Fruggs to all who need them, I'm leaving Strawberry Cheesecake and Mint Choc Chip ice creams in the fridge at Nick's. And hot chocolate because the weather's gone all horrid back in October.
I predict 37-0 to England!
;o) []
Fiona (87)...good idea, I will a get a couple from the Sally Army reclaim shop and cover them with some nice throws.
FF (88) poor old you, good impression of Ming though ...pip...pip or should say hop......hop....
witchi (89) pineapple....will try it with my lunchtime vodka.......mmmmmm......interesting.
Wonko (90) Strawberry Cheescake the perfect pud to follow Baked Pot and Spag Bol topping...
..keep up the good work...
Erm, I hope Eddie was joking a bit when he wrote ...
FF (91)........I,m stuck for words......Eddie WT*?
Surely he must be FF (91)...........?! How bizarre - and how fortuitous for him that this has appeared when he has gone away for a few days if in fact it was written in all seriousness.
Ffred(92) No wonder he's done a disappearing act!!!!
DIY (85) I've done the blackout curtain-liners. I'll try and find something fancy to cover them!

That MUST be a joke, musn't it? I feel a little shaken. Quick, someone pass the cheesecake!
Eddie's piece is hilarious. Clearly his week off is doing him good!

Even the clearest and most perfect circumstantial evidence is likely to be at fault, after all, and therefore ought to be received with great caution. Take the case of any pencil, sharpened by any woman; if you have witnesses, you will find she did it with a knife; but if you take simply the aspect of the pencil, you will say that she did it with her teeth.

Gillian (80): oh yes I can!
(Has panto season started yet? Has Eric got his Widow Twankie costume ready yet?)
Other job "didn't work out". Lasted 4 weeks. Great staff, extremely challenging school, unwilling to sacrifice my home life for it (which is what it would have needed). Taken an easier (but nonetheless challenging) role closer to home which fits in much better with daughter's school hours whilst Mrs G pursues the high-flying career thing.
Looking at various future options which include writing something. Yes, I know everyone says that. Yes, I know I've said it before...
Eric is just being silly. I thought it was a hoot.
But I do hope those benighted types who don't frog and don't even listen to PM won't be confused or lead astray.
(PS: the word 'publicity' slumps to mind)
Oh dearie, dearie me...(shakes out ruffled feathers). So yet another 大象传媒 betrayal is revealed.
All these months, we thought we were the valued contributors to a groundbreaking trial of listener interactivity, and it turns out we've just been a bunch of unqualified loons with access to a keyboard. We've been pawns in the Master's quest for the Gold Sony Award - having trifled with our affections, he now cruelly hold up the mirror to our faces to show us what we really are. "Heaven forbid, bloggers"
Oh well, back to the keyboard I guess. Wonder if I can prepare a few dozen more ill-informed scribblings before bedtime, & send them off to someone who really cares?
Speaking as a loon, how does one achieve a qualification as such? I have always wanted to be qualified.

Jason(104) Good on yer! I hope this job turns out better for you. Here, let's fill your glass up....here's looking at you Kid!
DIY (98) What a good idea! I will certainly ask Sequin if we can have some of her fancies for Cafe 502....they should keep well enough in an airtight tin, eh?!
*whispers* I've smuggled in a couple of hammock-liners to use for curtains. I hope no-one notices!
hi peeps...Ch problem at son #2 sorted but will need a trip to the big B&* god in the sky in the morn....

Humph.....can I do the 'Loon' qualification with you?
As I think Loons should always be seen in pairs...

Happy Birthday Appy! Hope you have a lovely day. Be sure to tell us all about it later, (if you can still type straight, that is, after the fizzy stuff).
502 - wasn't expecting that!
Appy - did leave a message will resort to FBK instead!
Morning all - and happy birthday to Appy. Am going to be in meetings all morning so save me a bit of choccy cake please.
Humpth - re the qualification, have looked into it and apparently the OU do a distant learning course in Loonship - leading to a BL (Bachelor of Loonship). It can take a view years to achieve however if you have prior credits (e.g. an A level in Stupidity or an NVQ in Complete Idiocy) these all count towards it. And they do Loony Summer Camps where all the loons can get together and swap tips on how well their course is going etc. Sounds just the ticket don't you think!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Happy Appy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So glad I dropped onto the Beach today, I had the 19th in my head for some reason, oops. So is the party on for tonight then Appy? I could bring a couple of bottles of sparkly since I won't be seeing you all at the Frogfest :o(
Re Eddie - surely I smell the well-meant aroma of something being stirred?
Jason G - I'm sure the Black Sheep could be a launching pad boyo, go for it!
Sara, Belinda, Rachel G, Fiona - lovely to see long quiet friends back on the Beach. How are you all?
Intermittent Horse - your moniker stood out, to me, from Myles away ;-}
I don't know why I haven't gotten down here more often myself this past couple of weeks as I am thoroughly enjoying being a Lady of Leisure this month - and seriously thinking of keeping it that way. Too old for all this committal-and-responsibility-in-return-for-gelt stuff. I'm going to leave this pot of freshly brewing rooibos and some of Jamie's Squash Muffins over on the NCbar - sorry I stumbled coming over the dunes so perhaps Squashed Muffins would be a better description!

(thus resisting any temptations involving 'have an Appy brithday')
The blog seems to have been banjaxed again since last night (seven posts, none got there, none said it wouldn't) so I hope this gets through...
Ed, 'academicals' is what the university people say when they mean 'cap and gown'. 'I have to wear my academicals' means 'oh help, my mortarboard has got moth, can anyone lend me one?'
For Val P
HAVING placed in my mouth sufficient bread for three minutes' chewing, I withdrew my powers of sensual perception and retired into the privacy of my mind, my eyes and face assuming a vacant and preoccupied expression. I reflected on the subject of my spare-time literary activities. One Beginning and one ending for a book was a thing I did not agree with. A good book may have three openings entirely dissimilar and inter-related only in the prescience of the author, or for that matter one hundred times as many endings.
Examples of three separate openings - the first:
The Pooka MacPhellimey, a member of the devil class, sat in his hut in the middle of a firwood meditating on the nature of numerals and segregating in his mind the odd ones from the even. He was seated at his diptych or ancient two-leaved writing-table with inner sides waxed. His rough long-nailed fingers toyed with a snuff-box of perfect rotundity and through a gap in his teeth he whistled a civil cavatina. He was a courtly man and received honour by reason of the generous treatment he gave his wife, one of the Corrigans of Carlow.
The second opening:
There was nothing unusual in the appearance of Mr John Furriskey but actually he has one distinction that is rarely encountered - he was born at the age of twenty-five and entered the world with a memory but without personal experience to account for it. His teeth were well formed but stained by tobacco, with two molars filled and a cavity threatened in the left canine. His knowledge of physics was moderate and extended to Boyle's Law and the Parallelogram of Forces.
The third opening:
Finn Mac Cool was a legendary hero of old Ireland. Though not mentally robust, he was a man of superb physique and development. Each of his thighs was as thick as a horses belly, narrowing to a calf as thick as the belly of a foal. Three fifties of fosterlings could engage with handball against the wideness of his backside, which was large enough to halt the march of men through a mountain-pass
happy birthday appy !!

Gasp! Shock! Horror! Gnnnnaaaaggghhhh!? I've just read *that* article. What does Mr de Mair think he's doing? Does Roger know? Does Sequin know? Did he have his fingers crossed when he gave the interview? I think we should be told.
Still busy, busy, so this will probably be my one and only visit to the Beach today. So;
- Happy Birthday Appy - have a good one!
- Hello to recent/recently returned Froggers!
- All the best to Jason, hope it works out for you this time and all credit to you for putting your family first.

Ah...ol' Joe Loon....nice bloke. Reminds me of Sid!!
I. Horse - excellent research, thank you. Well, that certainly knocks a hole in Eric's argument, doesn't it? Now all we have to do is get Dr Loon to feature on iPM. Perhaps he could be a story you contribute to the iPM blog? The first qualified loon.
I must say this whole "i" business does remind me of water running down a plughole in ever-decreasing spirals. In some ways I think I probably agreed with what Eric said in that interview. It's just that I wouldn't have the nerve to say it. Especially if I was being paid to promote it. It's like playing a truly hideous, difficult & time-wasting piece of contemporary music, & being asked afterwards by someone in the audience how you liked playing it. You'd never say it was rubbish. You'd mutter platitudes about "bold" "challenging" "exciting" "It grew on me" etc.
So it was amusing to see Peter Rippon's polite and enthusiastic-sounding comments on the same page, for the very same business Eddie had just excoriated. Now that really is the 大象传媒 demonstrating opposing (balanced?) viewpoints!
I'll have another go......
Happy, Appy? Shall we have a Flamenco party for you, then you could be Clappy Happy Appy ;o)
Hi Chaps - testing for 502.....
I am going to go on trying this, so if it appears several times, I'm sorry about that... I have all the time in the world myself, the only thing I really *must* do today is watch a couple of coats of paint as they dry. :-( (22.56, 502)
I suppose there's something rather wonderful about people from the 大象传媒 being so enthusiastic about the internet, when what they offer us as a matter of course is a blasted blog that is broken *again*.
Frances O @ 140, I don't see why a loon shouldn't be a quean?
For my man Flann -
There is a funny idea abroad (by which I mean, of course, in Ireland) that if you scream loudly enough against 'censorship' you are therefore a litherary man and an 'intellectual'. You are 'advanced' and 'read books'. It is a handier resort than the beard act, though the two together are formidable. Against a dull day I cut (out) some weeks ago the following bit from our awful Litherary Page - you know the poem made of rhubarb in the middle and the surround of bubonic marzipan.....
Gossipmrs - oh yes lunch is obligatory of course, watch this space though, it's all still tbd. Hollyoaks eh? now there's yet another advantage of being teenagerless, it hasn't had to be aired in our house for several weeks now :o)
Frances O - but all quines are genetically qualified, it's in our DNA, no?

Mushrooms from the forest, anyone? To go with WW's excellent (storebought, I presume) ones. I can also offer a few from the field-edges with slightly twisty stems if anyone fancies a day off and a hilltop or two.
btw, I recommend a watch-again of last night's White Horse Village piece. Made me cry. It sems all of our Great Leaders have decided farming is obsolete and can be done completely 'in the background' by machines and chemicals, no people needed.

Val P - The actual Beard Act - honestly.
鈥淣o manner man, that will be taken for an Englishman, shall have no beard above his mouth, that is to say, that he have no hairs on his upper lip, so that the said lip be once at least shaven every fortnight, or of equal growth with the nether lip. And if any man be found amongst the English contrary hereunto, that then it shall be lawful to every man to take them and their goods as Irish enemies, and to ransom them as Irish enemies;鈥 (St. 5 Hen. VI.) if the ransom was not paid --- death.
DiW - yum, thanks and more mushies from Ed, my cup runneth over!
EEEk - how we do come to depend on things.....
Took the dog for a walk on a beautiful autumnal day in RL and with a soupcon of joie de vivre decided to turn it into a bit of a jog 30 paces, walk 30 paces. Imagine my consternation 1.5miles later (the jogging had stopped by that time, don't be silly dear reader), when I went to check the time on my mobile phone - gone, leapt out of the trouser/jacket pocket!!!!
EEEk. Fast marched the rest of the way home in the faint hope that I might not have taken it out with me, phoned it from the house phone but ringing was there none :o(
It then took me two driving circuits of my walk preparatory to a third on foot, when I found it on the grass verge where it must have skittered after leaping, the sound of skittering having been masked by the pounding of my (pink psychedelic) wellies.
Be still my beating heart, I hate losing things. I'll take one of those baked spuds DIY thanks, food's always good for stressful moments ain't it?

Flann dear - so that's why leprechauns have beards and no moustaches then??
Oh dear Val P, sounds like you need a cup of tea to go with that baked spud - and I know how you feel about losing things. A couple of years ago when we are in France we had a lovely day up at the top of some mountain in the Pyrenees tobagonning with the children. We then set off on our way back to the gite we were staying in - about an hour later it occurred to me that I couldn't quite lay my hands on my phone, I searched all through the car to no avail, rang it - no noise from anywhere! It then slowly dawned on my that it may have slipped out of my pocket! After several failed attempts at ringing it eventually a voice answered with a reticent Bonjour!, after quizing them in my basic French we confirmed that it was indeed at the top of the aforementioned mountain. So off we set back, another hour there, up a nice steep windy mountain road to retrieve my phone, which holds virtually all my contact phone numbers! Funny enough SO wasn't best pleased with me that day!
Are we allowed to post yet? Yesterday was sooo frustrating! Just trying to say 'Happy Birthday' to Appy took about 10 attempts. Aaargh!
Molly (160) I'm going too. I think Anne P, Gillian & Annasee are also going. As usual I shall be arriving late so I hope they won't have all gone to bed, or, more importantly, drunk all the *herbal tea*!
Anyone else going to join us?x
Does that mean the soup is extra-scrummy, Fifi? I do hope so.
H. ;o)
Well what a lovely day - and I don't just mean the weather!
Fellow-frogger Sara and I met for lunch today, and got on really well. Annasee, I'm glad I bothered with the matching necklace and earrings, because Sara is every bit as glamorous as you'd described her - though she left the hat at home as she was working today!
We shared lots of gossip about you all, and suffice to say that she was a worthy recipient of a little Eric -the-frog ;o)
And how weird is that strapline - my ''news'' is that my car ''key'' is now in the possession of my ''Em''(ily) who passed her driving test today!
Thank you Paul Marsh - I put her success down to you ;o)
I'll be joining y'all in spirits.

Valp P (166) - You were jogging in pink psychedelic wellies? Surely that must be breaking several by-laws!
Gillian....congrats to Emily.
RL has interfered with any plans I may have been trying to formulate as part of the Frogging invasion, I shall be working in Swaffham.
However I will be checking out the web cams.....so best behaviour?, no, thought as much....have a real blast!
DIWyman(181) Best behaviour? I thought you knew me better than that! I expect you to be heckling via Jonnie's camstream - don't let me down!

Change of subject........ Beef Stew and Dumplings for tea.....with lashings of Horseraddish and a certain sauce from the fair county of Worcestershire......if any left over (unlikely) will be available on the hostess trolly at NC's bar.
Val P - sounds like you are not only a L of L but also of Leisurewear! I think we need a photo of those wellies!!
FFred - bring them along and we'll kick some odd-shaped balls around...they'll never notice the difference!

Have just dropped by briefly. Stayed late at work and didn't get home till 8, then daughter came by, and now son coming up early - arrives any time.
Gillian (175) - glamorous !!!!!!!!!!!! You are joking of course.
But Gillian's wonderful - and I've got my precious little froggy. Not sure where to pin it up - work or home. We had a lovely lunch and discussed all of you froggers. Of course, Gillian has nothing but good things to say about you all.
How's the frog tonight? Will I be 502d I wonder?
To answer as many of your Qs as I can remember...
... not sure what time the music starts on Saturday, but we'll start arriving on Friday so the webcam should be a bit more interactive than usual from, say, tea-time. (That's Pimms o'clock, Wonko!)
... I'm hoping everyone will bring their Eric the Frogs, so we can see all those little differences. And their 'little somethings' from Eddie, for a photographic opportunity.
... I think the soup will turn out OK. The chilli is quite spicy though, so we might need to pop out for some soured cream first.
Have I missed anything? No? Then I think I'll just settle into this hammock with the laptop, and chat with Ed and Gillianian at the webcam.

Hello All,
Sorry I'm late for my own party -- shocking!
Thank you all so much for the birthday greetings yesterday. They do make up for the fact that I had the most awful, horrid birthday ever -- i was just too depressed to do anything :-( My office has been awful lately -- culminating in someone leaving suddenly on Friday, claiming to have been the victim of racism, when actually she has been a bully and has upset a lot of people. Some of you may remember that I had trouble with an over-attentive female colleague some months back? No sooner had the sudden leaver left then the over-attentive one moved all of her stuff, without consulting anyone, into the desk next to mine!!!! I took yesterday off to have some quiet me-time and all I could do was cry and worry about office politics. Today, however, I have been back in, stood my ground and moved her out.
So, feeling much better, here with enough champers -- or your preferred tipple -- for everyone, celebrating my special day one day late, please join me in a group hug.
Cheers lovely frog chums! :-)
And a special thanks to RJD for showing up especially, if you're lurking -- you are missed.
Now, I have had more than my share of your kind attentions. With thanks, I shall just get myself behind the bar and begin pouring: Who's for a large one?
A, x.
Appy,
((((((((frugggg))))))))))
and belated birthday cheers! Mine's a Liffey. How'd you know?
Snuggle down. It's just you'n me here, and it's safe and warm.

Appy (191) : That sounds like the worst birthday there ever was. :o(
(((((frugfrugFRUGfruggityfrug)))))
Luckily, like her dear Maj, you are allowed to celebrate your birth whenever you damn well please!
I have stashed a case of Black Stump (that's a red wine, by the way) behind the NC Bar -- sorry, that's probably what you've been bruising your knees against, while you were pouring Ed's liffey water...
And also made a tiny model of your office out of an old shoe box, which we can ritually burn on the BBQ or let the camels ritually eat once everyone else is up. It has no effect in real life but I find makes me feel soooo much better!
Don't dwell on the horribleness of y'day... bask in the loveliness of t'day instead. We all love you, in a cuddly non-weird way, and our livers are yours to do with as you will.
Pour on, Madam, pour on!

Morning all,
Appy, do hope things go better today.
Is it safe here now or are the 502 demons still about?
Looking forward to meeting up in Bournemouth with a real beach. Meanwhile croissants and Java on the NC bar with a fresh pot of English Breakfast and a large jar of my sister's homemade marmalade.

I was out with two friends for dinner and the bill came to 拢30. We each gave 拢10. The waiter realised that the bill should have been 拢25. Since he couldn鈥檛 easily split 拢5 between three, he gave each one of us a pound and kept the remaining 拢2 as a tip. So each of the three of us have paid 拢9, making 拢27 in all, whilst the waiter has kept 拢2.
We can鈥檛 figure out where the other 拢1 went.
Unqualified Loon: No wonder you're unqualified - but don't begrudge the waiter the extra 拢1.
Appy: I sent you an ecard to your hotmail address, hope it made it through on your birthday. Sorry it wasn't a good one (the birthday, not the ecard) and good on you for standing up to Little Ms Pally.
;-0......;-)
Unqualified (195) I don't think there ever was another 拢1 really.
The restaurant received 拢25, the waiter received 拢2 making 拢27. Each of you paid 拢10 and you each received a 拢1 coin in change. The 'missing' 拢1 is illusory. Just think of it as a bill totalling 拢27 and 拢3 change. It's just how you describe the story that makes it seem odd.
I think that makes sense?
The waiter stole it..... (195)
Are we allowed to give the real 'solution'??
Please sir, I know the answer, I know.....
Anne,
"you each received a 拢1 coin in change."
Not necessarily. In Scotland, it might have been a 拢 note.

Anne P (198) - But it is clever isn't it? You should see the puzzled looks on a lot of faces in my office this morning.
Big Sister (196) - I can assure you that the waiter only got the 拢2 - he's an honest bloke.
Dear froggers
Have a great weekend. I'll be with you, thousands miles away.

Sadly I can't be with you either in person or via the webcam as we are away this weekend. However, I may well pass you on the motorway Fifi - we are heading up to East Midlands and staying just outside Derby.
Have a good one and look forward to seeing the pics x
Enjoy your party you lot. Alas, I'm off in the opposite direction. Don't forget the kites and if you are passing Bradford you can borrow my Croquet set.
Loon,
"You should see the puzzled looks on a lot of faces in my office this morning."
Is that an unusual situation?

The devil finds work for idle glands.
Morning Peeps....or is it afternoon already? I'm a bit fuddled having been singing Christmas carols til 3am, having 3 and a bit hours sleep and being in work at 8.30, so excuse me if I'm a bit brain-dead!
All the actors looked about 14 and the crew weren't much older. It was an outside scene - quite cold & frosty and we had christmas hats & lanterns and sang 3 carols - or rather mimed 3 carols then recorded them afterwards, so I'll be very surprised if our Lip Synch is accurate! It goes out on Dec 6th. We will be on for approximately 0.642 of a second!
Looking forward to Bournemouth tomorrow!
Ed I - Now that you mention it, no!
The wages of sin is death, but the hours are good.
Fiona (204) What bad timing! If we weren't going to Bournemouth we could have had a mini-meet of at least 3 Froggers! ;o)
Unqualified Loon (201) You should see the puzzled look on MY face! I still don't understand it - even after agreeing that Anne P is right!!
Appy, I'm glad you're feeling bettter

Is there any of your Fizz left please?

I just did a little research, and realised that next wednesday marks the 1 year anniversary of the discovery of the Beach! I think this deserves a party to celebrate....
I'll second that, FFred! We should give Andycr--- a medal as discoverer, perhaps?

One nuclear bomb can ruin your whole day.
Appy - sorry you had a bad time on your Birthday. Well done for grabbing the bull by the horns though, must've taken some courage!x
Unqualified (198): I like it.
Reminds me of the thing where you count back on one hand "10, 9, 8, 7, 6" and hold up the other 5 fingers and say "6 add 5 is eleven".
I also like the Hilbert Hotel problem.
You have a hotel with an infinite number of rooms. Not Jonnie's, sadly. (Although the cleaning bill would be higher.)
Every room has an occupant.
A coach with an infinite number of passengers arrives.
How do you fit the passengers into the hotel so that everyone has a room of their own?
---
Yes, you can google the answer but think about it a bit first. Just for the torture value.
For the mathematically interested, it neatly illustrates "countably infinite" as opposed to the (surprisingly larger) "uncountably infinite". I had enough trouble when I thought there was only one type!
Jason (214) Is the answer as follows - if you have an infinite series you can always fit one more number in between each pair of numbers (infinitely often).
A bit odd to do it with with rooms since you'd have to build more, but if you are dealing in infinities perhaps they are already built in some kind of infinite reality.

Hello All,
Thanks Ed, Fifi and Gillian for the frugs n stuff. Today has been MUCH better. Just wish I was coming to Bournemouth and that would make my weekend complete!!! Having belated birthday drinks with a few pals instead, so it should be pleasant enough.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend -- whether on the south coast or elsewhere.

Fiona - oh I know what you mean about having all your contacts on your phone and nowhere else.....but have I done anything about it yet??
Intermittent GG - I'll see what I can do about that photo!
Appy - sorry to hear that you were in the doldrums, and I too wish I could be spending the weekend with other froggers. The irony is, and I texted Fifi at the time, that I was sitting on platform 15 waiting for the Glasgow train to come in and what should be sitting on platform 14 waiting to draw out but the 12.49 to Bournemouth. The Trainspotter asked for a photo but by that time my train had left so I sent a picture message of the next station to Fifi for him. I felt like Eddie, sending photos from the train!
Will go off to jonniecams very soon but first I wanted to share news!:
We're emigrating!
To make a short story long:
We have been talking about it for a long time and I have always been a little iffy about starting anew at my husband's age (hehe).
But a couple of days ago, I came home from a rubbish day at the office to find a beautifully wrapped parcel for me from my husband's family. It was full of home-knitted woollen hats for me and me alone; with knitted maple-leaves, caribou and something that I thought was a reproductive system but turned out to be Lobsters (the family are from the Maritimes).
It was such a thoughtful gesture, as my husband had told them via email a few weeks ago that I was beginning to struggle with having no/little hair and my unconvincing blonde wig wasn't cutting it anymore in the cooler weather. So we're going to move there, where I can have hats aplenty (that's not the only reason obviously). We are checking out how long we need to wait in terms of the whole cancer thing (my prognosis is pretty good at the moment) but hopefully things should start happening in about 12-18 months or so. Wheeee!
And now I'm off to watch Froggers ribbit together.
Beautiful Belinda, that is wonderful news. Such a lot to look forward to, exactly where are you going - Canada?, New Zealand.... somewhere they can send lobsters by post eh?
Your postal bill my go up when you get there!
Hope you're still rabidly ribbiting when I gets home
xx
Anne (214): Spot on - you make everyone in the hotel move to the room with double the number of their current room and you move the coach party into the odd numbered rooms.
But this only works for a countable infinite series (like whole numbers and hotel guests) and not for uncountably infinite numbers (like decimals and bar tabs).
Jason (221) my brain hurts!!
Belinda (219) - I've been lurking here for a while but I'll break cover to wish you all the best. Whatever you plan and whatever you wish, I hope that everything works out as you want!
Well they have all gone off to bed.
Belinda- That sounds great - a new start in a way?
The marvellous thing is, for us, that you aren't really going anywhere. I mean you will still be on the blog and can educate us about the new challenges etc..
So tomorrow we will be joined by Gillian, Gossipmistress, AndyCragg, Anne P, Izzytme, BigSister, Fearless Fred and others I hope.
There is no plan as such - though if the weather is kind to us we will have some fun on the beach and take some photo's.
The camera - thanks to 'Camstreams' will be broadcasting anything that is broadcastable. I realise there is some sporting event on in the evening but after that finishes - and maybe before - we will be providing some quality entertainment, courtesy of Fifi and the Lying Scotsman.
Click on my name above to go there.
Oh and Eddie will - of course - pop up somewhere during the proceedings ;-0
morning peeps, in RL, the Frogging invasion of Bournmouth seems to be getting off to a flying start. First the south coast then the world!
Guess it may be quite quiet here today, just right for a spot of beach combing.
Anyhoo....Saturday fry ups are on the hostess trolly at NC's....
NNooooooooo........502'd.........2nd attempt
I have Cafe 502 on standby!
Annasee, nice strapline!!
3rd time lucky?
well it looks like the Bournmouth invasion forces are having a lie in this morning!
follow my name to see the (in)action!
Belinda-
what an exciting thing to do. I hope you keep blogging- I have always regarded you as truly inspiirational . Sorry- just had to say that.....
Right you Bournmouth Beauties-
WAKE UP!!!!
See you later- my technical expertise permitting!
Mollyxxx
Well, this Fred is about to leace for the Froggers invasion. See you all there later!
Hi Guys, Annasee here in the kitchen. Gillian arrived here at the crack of dawn (ie 10am) when most of us were just getting up. We've had a lovely breakfast courtesy of jonnie. A beautiful day here, I think we may go out for a walk to make the most of it.
PS Gillian has brought the most ENORMOUS suitcase with her, with pink flowers on, she swears there is nothing in it.Only time will tell. I think she may have packed it with gin. It's nearly as big as she is.
I've stroked Dolly the cat who is gorgeous but rather stand-offish. Apparently I was privileged to even get to touch her.
Belinda, great to hear your new plans. We too are supposed to be emigrating, but not to a place where they need wooly hats. I presume you're looking to somewhere cool then? Best of luck anyway with it all.
Will type more later...
Bye for now
Annasee
Thanks for all your good wishes everyone - in my excitement, I did forget to say the location, which is Canada. Nova Scotia to be precise!
Best of luck with your emigration plans as well, Jonnie. I'll send across the sun-tan lotion!
And thank you Molly and RJD for your kind words, I'm all blushed out!
Second attempt.
Belinda and Appy: Have tried endless numbers of times to post something for you both (different things, of course!) and just hope this message gets through.
Belinda: wonderful news! and I gather Nova Scotia is v. special, like you. Looking forward to hearing more about your plans as they develop.
Appy: I did send you an ecard, though as I've not heard from you it could well have been shunted into the wild ether of the internet. Sorry your day wasn't better, and I'm so pleased to hear you stood up to Little Miss Pally.
Please, mods, please don't stop this message - it is getting very irksome to be blocked like this.
First attempt 7.45 a.m.
Morning all!!
I popped into Cransley last night (without leaving my chair!) and what a great time we all had!!
Hugely Hilarious!
As for me I am doing an abseil for charity at half eleven....yes, i know, it's nuts. but hey ho!
wish me luck!!

Oh yes - and I hope the abseil went all right, NN.
Well, I'm home after a very enjoyable evening (I couldn't make it for the whole weekend), and what a fab time was had by all!!
Jonnie and Simon were super hosts, Fifi and the band were great entertainment (as some of you will have seen) and the company of them and the other froggers was lovely. Oh, and Rupe was a vision in his natty little coat - I didn't see hide or hair of either of the cats, obviously scooted before I arrived.
Nikki - hope the abseil went smoothly, how brave of you.
Sorry, Sid. After 3 1/2 hours sleep (I know, I know!), I'm not really up for running around the beach. I'm just going to put my feet up in the sparkly hammock and catch some zzz's.
Catch you soon,

Hello, all, a few late sundowners on the NC Bar and some hot whiskey for Peej, RJD and anyone else who'd like it.
Oddly enough, the only nibbles I have being Bombay Mix, I'll put out a bowl of that, too.

We are back, and tired, after the best weekend in .... well .... ever!
It's a funny sort of gig, when you've got a video cam sending it out to an international audience, some of whom are also chatting on the webcam chat thingy, and requesting this-or-that song, or this-or-that closeup!
(The accidental shot of a certain female frogger's cleavage -- not mine by the way -- will be omitted from the final edit.)
And I got to paddle off a real beach. Twice!!!

Oh COME ON 502... 'we' were never going to beat them in the World Cup, and LH did BRILLIANTLY to get where he did. Give it up and leave the blog to me!
Err - Accidental Ed! It was! Honest!
The camera magically moved in that direction?
Anyway - thanks to everyone who turned up and those that were sorely missed
A big thanks to 'Patrick Cornwell' from Camstreams for supplying the platform to bring the whole event to a wider audience! - and who - on request, very late on Friday evening gave us huge bandwith for many viewers.
For those of you who missed it - Fifi and others that where there will be around to play back the highlights - with tsound level lifted - in the near future - and thanks from a suggestion from Mittfh - we will also be including other Froggers highlights from the past as a new streaming feature, courtesy of Camstreams - still currently a free service courtesy of Patrick Cornwell.
Jonnie,
Thanks for hosting such a great Froggers Meet over the weekend. There's a bottle of whatever you fancy stuck behind the NCMB. Abiding memories? Fifi going for a paddle, and the online chorus to the Froggers son on Saturday night. All together now...
"pm pm pm pm"....
Joy - 502'd on my first post for days....

Rubbish Jonnie! I saw you smirking, remember? And Humph has the photo to prove it. So forget that excuse.
Many thanks to Patrick Cornwell & Camstreams. It has to be the most bizarre feeling to be in a room where people are singing a song, at the same time chatting via camstreams & watching the words to the chorus coming up on the screen as the viewers typed them. "PM, PM, PM PM PM" never seemed so funny!
(er, on second thoughts, was that just me & the 2 glasses of wine? I suppose it's possible...)
A million thanks to all those who made the weekend possible and so enjoyable - you know who you are. Photos now on the flickering place.

The irony of the photos on the beach will not be lost on those now languishing in the dungeon that is room 502!
(One last attempt - first was mid-morning!)
Hey ferrets!
Sounds like a good time was had by all. The WAGs, HABs and CPs must have had a whale of a time too. You should do it regular.
You could put up blue plaques on the doors where blog aristocracy slept and offer the rooms at a premium to the more lowly bloggers who attend the B list gatherings later on.
This could be a commercial triumph. What about a lonely hearts thread on the iblog with MEET weekends and Fabio's services for the unsuccesful trysters.
Philosophy weekends from the Thinkers thread, metamathematical weekends from the Self Referential Paradoxes thread.
I could go on, and sadly probably will.
Cransley should be mentioned in Bournemouth coach tour guide commentaries.
Is there some way we could cut out the need to blog?
Is there a hotel prospectus or something we could consult?
Who could ever think that a Bournemouth Hotel could be such a money spinner. Can I suggest the Lying Scotsmen record 'When I first came to this land' as the owner's theme tune.

Ed the real proof is that I wasn't struck down for such a bad argment. For any self respecting God would have dealt with me that way.
A bad argument, true, but I bet you think it's a true implication.
Re ValP (218) You were so meant to have beeeeeen there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At Bournemouth during the weekend!! Why do you think that they run trains between that town and Eddi-'n'-a-bra??? I travelled home today by train and when I got to the station guess the destination of the first train on the platform I was waiting on (on which I was waiting - sorry). Yes, you guessed it, it was Ed-in-a-bra! I thought "I could be saying goodbye to Val, here." I thought "Val could be sitting in one of those lovely seats, now." I thought "Val could be waving goodbye to me, now." A chance missed. Sorry that you were not there.

I have tried posting on several dif. threads today...with no joy....I give up......as Arthur Askey used to say........" I thank you "...bye
Mac (252),
In order to prove the non-existence of anything (an impossibility in itself), the 'thing must first be defined.
In the case of God, this is by definition doubly impossible.
I'm not sure either what you mean by ;a true implication', but I suspect you're wrong there, too.
Hamdilallah, etc.

I have lost a long list of thanks to several 502's -
A final 'Thank you' to everyone. It was so nice to finally meet those that made the event in person.
We are a nice trustworthy - fun loving bunch - very unique.
Thanks to our Eric as well for making it all happen, even though the blog is unwell
Eddie - we missed you - as do we miss our beach being refreshed :-(

I suspect this will be my last post as I am constantly frustrated by 502s. I have tried to post about 3 dozen messages over the past week and two have got through (one complaining about 502s).
I'm not moaning - I know this is a tech problem and not the fault of PM, the 大象传媒 or their legal representatives. It's just rubbish when you can't repsond to a comment.
There are very cheaply hosted bulletin boards across the net, anyone of which would allow multiple threads and actually take postings and publish them. I'm afraid I am now going to stick to those. Stop cheering at the back!
Been a giggle. Catch you elsewhere. Hugs and kisses.
Is the blog terminally ill again?
Sid @ 9:30 a.m.
Jonnie (256 or some other power of two),
There's always the thread without a name

Apparently not :(
Mac (252) : If you really resent the 'blog aristocracy' that much, why not just emigrate to another blog? Better for your blood pressure.*
Meanwhile, being as how we are actually FRIENDS around here, I am going to spend the next 20 mins trying to help Val find where she's left her own flickery place.

Get your five(02) a day here!!! Fresh fruit on the bar - apricots, nectarines, bananas, apples, green and black grapes, satsumas, and a couple of mangos. There's nothing beats getting your hands on a couple of mangos over lunchtime.
