As we prepare for iPM
this snap was taken three minutes ago of Rupert chatting to Mr Blog, whose face he has obscured on purpose.
That's Paddy's back you also see there.
Meanwhile - a note from Jonnie re the forggers refuge which - incredibly - has been as out of action as the PM blog. He says that the "froggers refuge doesn't work as i forgot to renew it. sorry, i'm back on the 24th".
Thanks Jonnie. We will try to get the link taken down before then. But will we?
Eddie
Would you care to define the word "we"..?
My god..! A perfect trouble-free "post"
Well, lets try this:
I know, I know, this should be on the Glass Box for 15 November but... 502's, 502's 502's
Anyway the "Gordon Brown's GOATS", report was far too good a nugget to let pass without comment...
But first, don't forget PM "frogger" Brian Christley
Remember his PM Blog posting on 14 November? Suggesting, effectively, that no-one thought of an Admiral and, in the un-likely event they did, "flip-flops" wouldn't be in the picture... How odd, I thought. At the time. Maybe, Mr Christley had lost the plot?
Clearly not. My mistake
Prescient? Cabinet insider...? Sender of coded messages? Mmmm...
Anyway, next day, we heard that an Admiral, the First Sea-Lord, Lord West, no-less, had been seen and heard "flip-flopping" - politically speaking - AND, been persuaded to do so, by the First Lord of the Treasury himself (no wonder, a movie (1935) "Brown on Resolution" was made) and all in the space of 45 minutes or so..!
If only Gilbert & Sullivan had known... Maybe we'd now be singing along to:
"I am the very model of a flip-flip-flopping Admiral..."
Anyway, following an introduction to "GOATS" by Ben Wright, there followed a first-rate discussion of the subject matter and its' history from two excellent political commentators; Baroness Williams and Mathew Parris
Oh yes, and Eddie...
The report and discussion were well structured, informed, non-biased; placing issues in historical perspective and giving appropriate supporting examples - everything one would expect from those involved
A joy to listen to. Informative and entertaining
Really good stuff...
More like that please
Just spotted that I'm queen of the straplines today. So, since I have regal rights, I'm going to make a very naughty comment.
Rupert looks gorgeous. Please tell him so from me. I know, I know - that's not what the picture is about. But he does look - gorgeous. It just has to be said.
Hope iPM goes well tonight, Eddie. And don't forget to pass the compliment on to Rupert.
Gorgeous. Just gorgeous.
Can someone please confirm whether of not Wales has been lost. I'm a Welshman - albeit with a Spanish surname - living in London and it appears my country has disappeared off the radar. I've tried calling friends back in the old country, but have only got through to their voicemail. I realise Wales are, shall we say, struggling in the Euro 2008 qualifiers, but is that any reason to deny their existance?
If a tidal wave or some other natural disaster has led to the destruction of my beloved land, please ignore this post.
"We weren't really trying"
Who is this "we", Eddie? I was speaking of Rupert. Who is gorgeous. ;o)
Andrew Duenas @ 05
your post is ignored...
Firstly, I see that the blog imporvement means that Eddie's changed colour retrospectively as well.
Chris (2), that was well remembered! I thought he was a troll, and in this case made no sense at all at the time. I see his "link" goes nowhere. He's posted before, I wonder...
Oh, so it's not only me who tried to take refuge at jonnie's, all in vain? O, cruel irony.
PS: Big Sis is right - Rupert is definitely well fit and wikkid. But don't tell him. His head is just the right size. And he'd never fit into Sis's Xmas parcel if it were any bigger.
Andrew (5)
Wales was mentioned on the 20:00 news bulletin. But I'm not telling you what was said ;-)
Oh no...502'ed
And again
Ladeez please - I am a married man.
Look, the refuge might be down but the cam is going strong at
dot camstreams dot com/
please come down, it's been very quiet lately
502'd?
Is that Paddy O'Connell's bike saddle on the desk in the foreground?
(You see, I DO pay attention to Paddy's programmes!)
test
Oh, I think it's too early for a test, Eddie, particularly on a windswept sunday morning. Here, have a coffee instead....
a 502 occurred
em (14)
....match special..
DiY..on de ball
Managed to renew the refuge site. It should have happened automatically but i'd been sent a new card so the expiry date was wrong. Have a week wireless internet connection here at our bungalow and using a little device called a n800 _ very clever. I cant listen live but can listen again. May even try and email eric a picture of the dunes.
Hi Jonnie! xx
You really shouldn't be worrying about this (17) - it's your HOLIDAY, remember!
Commiserations to Simon ;o(
That's a great pic of Rupert - he resembles the fabulous David Tennant. That's a nice thought for a rainy Sunday ;o)
jonnie @ 17, that's A & B the C of D, but it's very kind of you! Have a good rest-of-the-hol.
I am not convinced it's the right Rupert @ 10: the usual one posts in a different colour from the rest of us on the iPM blog and puts in a surname.
Cunning! That's a good way to avoid hoax posts from the hosts
Will this break the 502 barrier?
Do bears use loos?
Red alert, Eddie: in case you haven't been told, jonnie has fixed the froggers' refuge, so for goodness' sake don't encourage anyone to take the link away at this point!
Thank you Chris (21). He is a marvel.
Just been listening to the shock-horror news that homosexual couples might get both their names on kids' birth certificates. Don't understand the big deal. Why don't they simply design a form that accomodates reference to the two primary parents and an opt-in for a biological father. Typical civil bureacratic knicker twisting silly-stuff.
(23)
because then some one else would also want to be one there too, and then there'd have to be another box added and so on.
It'd be just as simple to rename the form: Egg and Sperm Certificate, hopefully not to be confused with the under five's Egg & Spoon certificate....
