    David Turner @3, I think there is still a theoretical responsibility for people behind a bar not to serve alcohol to anyone who is clearly unfit through having had more than enough alcohol already, but I don't suppose anyone has lost his job recently for serving a drunk who got into real trouble on the way home and choked to death or something. It seems more likely that a barman who was interested in health for his customers rather than in profit for his employer would lose his job. Bar staff used to say 'you've had enough, why don't you go home?' but I don't think they can be doing that any more.
