I've always thought Fifi was the answer to most Blog questions.
Like why does iPM have 'What listeners would like to hear' strands, but no attempt is made to poll listeners' opinions on what's important BEFORE the daily PM.
Anyway one Eaton seems to be the British military spokesperson for our killers in Afganistan. Mercifully he says only a political solution is possible there (NOT a military one)
Would it be worth asking him whether he thinks Karzai is in legimate power in the south? The Taliban were not allowed to stand in elections. Eaton seems to think the Talban has the hearts and minds of the local people. He might even think they ARE the local people.
So how can Karzai's use 0f Nato troops in the South be legal at all?
Meanwhile here (Nottingham) regiments back from Iraq are marching with fixed bayonnets in the town centre. Frightening isn't it.
Our killers here and Afganistan are torn between fear and aggrerssion. Let's send in the teddies with Fifi to cool out these fervid military schizoid minds.
