December 23rd
brings Jonnie's annual festive treat:
"Here is this year's Cransley Christmas tree. I did try and utilise someadvice from Fearless Fred and played around with the manual settings onthe camera - But the candles still look a little like electric lightbulbs?"
1240 UPDATE: I have no idea why today's pic suddenly appeared here too. Think I've fixed it.
Real candles on your tree Jonnie? Have you risk assessed it?
Fantastic, Jonnie!
I think it looks great.
I recently did a four-(half)day digital camera course and, as a total novice, found it fascinating. My experiments with flash were often limited to forgetting whether it was on or off. Some interesting results and a few disasters. But I'm hooked now.
So it's FF who is the expert? Except I expect he's a 35mm SLR genius.

Sigh. 502, of course. I do hope we're not plagued with it on Christmas Day. If we are, I wish everyone a happy day on the 25th
And here we go for the third attempt - thanks for your photo jonnie - your tree is beautiful. I can imagine myself sitting on your sofa admiring it ;o)
where is the fairy?
Re: Stewart:-
Perish the thought. On that note however, we now have to put intumescent smoke seals on over 20 doors. Not sure where the money for that will come from - but we will have to try and do it ourselves.
Re: Frances:-
I only have a cheapish 3 year old sony, but it does have various manual settings. I really must do a course as I'm still not sure what an F stop is!
And Gillian:-
Bless you. I'll upload it to my Flickr site so you can see simon's little balls and wastle cups? Not sure how you spell it.
"Wassail" Jonnie.
I think it refers to festive drinks. Not anything you'd know anything about then. Strictly tee- total as I remember the Cransley.
Tomorrow doing Xmas Carols from 9 30 am to 7 30 pm. Is this good for my mental health, I wonder? Probably too late to worry now.
Happy Christmas, one & all!
jonnie,
it looks great!

Thanks nikki - members of the panto cast and simon and I have now adorned it with presents.
It looks all quite festive. I may email Eddie another pic to stick underneath as they have all just read ths blog thread and telling their various families to check the PM Blog.
On a different note - our local Homebase had around 50 huge Norwegian spruces left over today that they were giving away free to the public - otherwise destined for the local tip!
Rather sad in a way?
Oo-er.....jonnie's tree has morphed into Val P!!
You're right Gillian - I thought I was seeing things!
Maybe Val P is the lovely fairy on the top of Jonnie's tree?
strangest tree I have ever seen. Me thinks all is not as it should be!
DiY:)
Valerie ??
Hey, I don't purport to be an expert, Jonnie! All I said was it's often worth playing about with the manual settings to get different effects :) And I think the glow on this looks really good...
jonnie,
I see you lynched Santa.
David:-
Honest I didn't!
There is a lurking pic I sent Eddie with the tree adorned with sparkling gifts below. Mostly pantomime people I'm sorry to say.
Happy Christmas everybody.
Splendid broadcast from kings on earlier. I was listening whilst wrapping up my meagre offerings.
As always I must compliment the ´óÏó´«Ã½ on the wonderful technical excellence of the sound engineers and general transmission quality. Listening on FM (Not DAB) it was quite astounding.
Unlike this dire blog's performance :-(
