I tried to get through to record my comments on police pay, but got nowhere. My postcode is LL11 3DT if you are interested. Now for police pay.
I don't know why the police are complaining. Every single year for 20 years they have got a larger pay rise than local government.
Every local government finds it hard e.g. to recruit qualified social workers. This is because the entry standard for social workers is harder, requires more qualifications, takes longer, and is more expensive than for the police.
Not surprisingly, many who would have wanted to be social workers went into the police instead.
The police must stop protesting so.They have been protected by successive governments from the world that the rest of us inhabit, and their pay far oustrips that of similarly and far higher qualified workers.
