He's written on economic ideas across the political spectrum from Marx to Hayek. His latest book is ". He believes governments need to learn the lessons of the 1930s in order to deal with the current crisis, and that the international economy risks breaking apart unless they do. He tells me they should take a leaf out of the book of one of that period's great economists, John Maynard Keynes, and pursue his idea of creating a new international reserve currency to replace the dollar.
