Election Multiscreen*

Election Multiscreen Throughout the election campaign ´óÏó´«Ã½ News is running a special Red Button multiscreen service devoted entirely to the election. Here viewers will find highlights of each day's campaigning including live and recorded elements available around the clock on Sky and Virgin and overnight on Freeview.

On election night itself the service will be expanded to a 5 screen multiscreen on Virgin and Sky with two screens on Freeview bringing you the key moments as the results come in.

In March, thousands of school pupils took part in the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s . In a slightly belated post (delayed due to holidays and Easter), David Twyman looks at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Red Button's involvement.

The red button has had many successful partnerships: Glastonbury, the Grand Prix and Wimbledon. But now it is time to introduce a new successful partnership, this time with ´óÏó´«Ã½ School Report.

The project that takes place yearly and pairs schools with ´óÏó´«Ã½ mentors helping them create a live news broadcast. Hundreds of 11-14 year olds research, prepare and present the news where it is broadcast globally through the ´óÏó´«Ã½ website.

Since Nick's first post about the move north, the TV Platforms Manchester team have had been hard at it. We have recruited new staff, given placement opportunities to new entrants, staff have given talks at universities and engaged with local organisations ahead of our move.

And now the advance guard in the North has another new home. After the vacation of North West Vision and Media from the ´óÏó´«Ã½ in Manchester, the Television Platforms team pounced on such a great opportunity for a new office which brought us together with our other Northern Future Media and Technology teams.
