2. National Lampoon's Vacation - the original comedy road pic, with 80s legend Chevy Chase stealing the show as Clark Griswald, a well-meaning dad desperate to get his family from Chicago to LA's legendary Wally World theme park.

3. Thelma & Louise - a 90s groundbreaker about two women on the run from the police, driving a '66 Thunderbird towards the Grand Canyon. Big time emotional stuff.

4. Dumb & Dumber - Harry and Lloyd are probably the two people you'd least want to be stuck in a car with, especially on the long drive from Rhode Island to Colorado. But Jim Carrey turns stupid into such an artform, you can't help but chuckle.

5. Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert - currently a stage musical, this Aussie pic wowed audiences 15 years ago with its cheeky send up of the outback. You might expect tough guys driving across the Australian wllderness, but not 3 drag queens with serious bitching problems.
