Where would you go if you could travel back in time?

Tris Cotterill | 18:21 UK time, Tuesday, 2 November 2010

Thanks for all the stories you have been sending in for the show. This week Russell and the team have been looking at @JAMMorgan's suggestion about a woman spotted in a 1928 Charlie Chaplin film supposedly on a mobile. It went massively viral but if you haven't seen it....

Anyway, we want to know where would you go if you could travel back in time? This is Russ with a little bit more info...

sorry about the removed comment russell the moderators clearly found a problem with dire revenge or proving certain aspects of religion wrong. *sigh* if only someone like you could moderate. is it any wonder frankie boyle quit mock the week. too many restirctions. :(

  • Comment number 10.

That's simple. I would go back to the time when man discovered and decided to cook bacon, and be the first one to eat it :)

I'd like to go back to Tudor times, just to be one of Henry the 8th's wifes, and one day just "accidently" slip some itching powder into his trousers haha!

OR I would quite like to go back to prehistoric times and use my own dinosaur to travel everywhere. That would be fun, and environmentally friendly ;)

  • Comment number 14.

hmmm...I would love to travel back in time to see what it was like being Adam and Eve, where you'd just walk around completely naked with a load of animals!!
However today my R.S teacher said that Adam and Eve weren't real and were made up by some Jews thousands of years ago...so if I did travel back to Adam and Eve time I might then be walking around starkers all by myself!! You never know I could get monkey-raped!! hehe :L
    love the show!!!!
    From Alex Baker :D x

  • Comment number 15.

I would travel back to 1987 when my boyfriend was 22, that way we would be the same age and not get such weird looks or such drama, of course that would mean me breaking up his 'then' marriage but hey... love is love

  • Comment number 16.

I would go back to the time i put my damn real age in here! it wouldn't let me leave a comment so i faked my age on a new profile!
    no seriously ...
i would go back to the time me and my friend met when she pushed me off a bike and still to this day she claims it was me, i would take a picutre and shove it in her face shouting HA!!! Come on back me up here ...

Hey Russell (and the Good News team),
I would go back in time to 2007-end of June 2009 and spend some more quality time with my mum before she past away in October 2009. I would also change the college course i was on at that time as i didn't enjoy it and i regret some of the things that i did on the course.
    Cheers,
    KitKat x x x

I would go back in time, maybe to about the year 1950, and corner the market on inventions like the silicon chip, transistors and the like. Why? So I can help Britain emerge from the war with a technological boost and maybe keep Britain as a major player on the world scene in its own right [/serious answer]

A lighter note, maybe 1960, to see if the saying about remembering the 60s is true...:)

  • Comment number 20.

i'd go back to when j.k. rowling was writing the last harry potter book and tell her to not screw it up... lets face it, that was a rushed book... i'd probably tell her not to kill off every secondary character too... either that or something more important, like to the second before george bush's mum and dad were getting ready to conceive him, and intervene... i'm not exactly sure how that'd work, but i'd find a way :)

  • Comment number 21.

I would go back in time to the exact time of this clip of the woman with the 'phone' to check whether it was a mobile phone or not. I wonder why nobody has though of this so far, that way all of this could be cleared up ;).

Or I'd just dance around behind her like that man that's always on the news in the background...

Probs when Jesus was alive ( i don't know when that is tho ) cuse he must of been rather cool to hang out with cuse he could walk on water and turn water in to wine so if u went to a party with him it would be rather awesome. x

A friend of mine had a really bad bike accident about 5 years ago, and broke the tops of both his legs, so I would probably go back to then just to watch him walking without the use of his crutches for the first time because he looked like a constipated penguin, and I would love to be able to relive that brilliant moment.

Otherwise, I would go back to 14th August 1987, find my mum and dad and tell them that they would have a baby girl in exactly a years time, just to really freak them out.

  • Comment number 25.

    Jesus time.
    Nah, erm........
Probably go back about a month and get started on two 3000 word essays I have due in a week, as I have nothing done so far...... that would be quite helpful..... otherwise, I'd quite like to go back to go back to Victorian times to ride a penny farthing down the street, that would be a fun day.
Also, Russell, if you're reading this, check out "Red Shirt Guy" on youtube, that dude's forgotten how to talk, inflexions all over the place....

  • Comment number 30.

i would go back to the 60s or 70s and find a police box, and then step out of it with things like ipods and ipads and anything else that's mega and pretend to be from the future with a TARDIS :)
