I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the item from Nicholas Parsons on the clocks. I understood completely how he felt about them and, although not into the actual mechanics of it, I did understand and appreciate all that he said. Clocks, (proper clocks that is) are an integral part of the home. I have always found a ticking clock to be a sound of comfort and reassurance along with the regular chimes. Digital clocks are efficient and functional but totally without character. They do not speak to you in the way a a proper clock does. If, heaven forfend, Mr Parsons does give up the day job, I wish him many years of happiness with all those characters around his house.
