Why are religious Jewss associated with Volvos .
One odf the reasons is that when the large Volvo model was brought out it was the only car that sufficient headrun such that the driver could wear a large black worn be religious jews.
Complain about this postWith growing car ownership through the 60s and 70s, cars became a more commonplace status symbol and the Jewish community did not choose German cars--and Volvo was one of the very few remaining 'prestige mark' cars.
Selecting Volvos also helped recognise Sweden's support of the plight of Jews during the War--I think that they are seen as being the most supportive during the war itself and immediately after.
So Volvo was the aspirational brand--and it has stuck ever since.
It is an example of what we now call 'ethical buying'.
