On April 19th 2008, Metallica opened the first at in San Francisco and the event has quickly spread worldwide. This year's event takes place on Saturday 16th April.and music enthusiasts will gather worldwide at their local independent record shop to show their support and pick up one of the multitude of special limited edition releases available on the day.

will release an EP of Franz Ferdinand covers with Debbie Harry, ESG, LCD Soundsystem and Peaches taking on tracks from the band's Tonight LP while Frightened Rabbit and The Twilight Sad are set to team up for a special limited edition cassette of unreleased material.
