Edinburgh One Man Shows Announced!

Beccy Beccy | 18:14 UK time, Friday, 30 July 2010

From 16th August, Scott Mills and Nick Grimshaw will be doing their Radio 1 shows live from the Edinburgh Festival.

After the success of "Scott Mills - The Musical" last summer, we've been given a new challenge.

This year Scott, Grimmy, The One That Doesn't Speak and I must each do a "One Man Show" at the Fringe.

We're all on our own for one performance, and we've only got 2 more weeks to get our shows together.

Today we announced what we'll all be doing:

Scott Mills will be performing "The Bjorn Identity", which is basically The Bourne Identity with the songs of Abba!

Nick Grimshaw will be doing a show called "Team Hate" which is a Powerpoint presentation about things he doesn't like!

There's still some mystery around "The One That Doesn't Speak: Silent But Deadly" but I'm told it will have some music and maybe even dance!

And my show will be called "Beccy: Live & Loose" where I'll be doing stand-up comedy.

We'll each take turns to do our One Man Shows from Monday 16th August - Thursday 19th August. You'll see them all at Radio 1 Online and we'll play highlights on our radio show.

If you actually want to be there and see the shows, we'll let you know how you might be able to get a ticket next week.

Edinburgh Try Outs...

Beccy Beccy | 12:26 UK time, Tuesday, 27 July 2010

With only 3 weeks to go until our Edinburgh Festival appearance, we thought we should start practising our one man shows. I tried improv (a bad idea!), The One That Doesn't Speak tried whistling to the songs of Glee and Scott tried to break a t-shirt world record. Looking at this, and the reaction of the audience, I think we've got a long way to go before we're ready!

Nelson the fox from Mongrels seems to have become a tiny bit obsessed with Radio 1 and Scott since meeting him a little while back.

Harry Hill Tattoo...

Scott went to Brighton at the weekend and saw this amazing tattoo. What do you think? I think he might be tempted!

Beccy Beccy | 15:59 UK time, Tuesday, 13 July 2010

Mitchell and Webb came in last week to set us our challenge for this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe. We're going to be doing our own one man shows from August 16th and even Grimmy is doing one.

Got any ideas for the shows? What on earth are we going to do?! We really need your suggestions, so if you've got any, email Scott here

On Friday, I posted a tiny preview clip of Scott having a bit of a bad time with a puppet fox from ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three comedy, Mongrels, and today we can announce what it's all about.

Yes, Scott will be appearing in an episode of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three adult puppet comedy, but more importantly, he's got a challenge for you...The 'One Minute Mills and Mongrels Challenge' where we'd like to see what you can do with footage of Scott and the Mongrels gang.

We would like you to make your own minute-long Mongrels video using the greenscreen footage provided. Send it to us and it could be considered by the Mongrels production team for inclusion on the Mongrels website

All of the details, files and instructions are over at the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Comedy Blog.

Here's a little something we came up with so you can see what we mean:

Download the footage and take on the challenge.
