SH Line Producer | 11:06 UK time, Tuesday, 26 October 2010

In today’s programme we look at the issues surrounding deaf and hard of hearing access to the world of politics. Does poor communication between politicians and the deaf community, as well as minimal deaf representation in parliament, mean that the needs of deaf people are not being met? We speak to a number of key figures on the subject and put their concerns to Maria Miller, Minister for Disabled People. And to get into the swing of the new series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ we meet former winner, professional ballroom dancer Karen Hardy. She’s known to millions of fans for her triumphs on the dance floor, but today she speaks to See Hear about the severe ear disease that could have brought her glittering career to a premature end.ÌýÌýÌý Ìý
