My rugby 鈥榗areer鈥 peaked in the early 1990s as a member of the now-legendary Mitcham junior side which reached - and lost - the Surrey Cup final two years in a row.
Since those heady days I have turned out for Croydon and Chipstead as one of the least prolific wingers in England, while writing on infinitely more talented players on the 大象传媒 Sport website.
I鈥檝e also worked on a variety of other sporting events including the World Snooker Championship, Wimbledon and rugby league鈥檚 Challenge Cup and Grand Final.
Outside of sport, I love my music and purport to be a DJ... even if only two people have let me play in public to date.
I鈥檓 also getting married in the summer (sorry girls), and am discovering the joys of wedding planning on an almost daily basis.
As for claims to fame, I鈥檓 struggling. My mum used to teach Millwall midfielder Neil Ardley, and he was 鈥渁 nice lad鈥 apparently.

Just wanted to point out that the photo you attatched to your article re Josh Lewsey being dropped isn't Josh Lewsey, It's Tom Rees.
They do look similar, especially in that photo .

Just to clear a couple of things up....
To James (post 3). I did look into your comment about the picture (in this piece - and you had me doubting myself for a while.... But a perceptive colleague pointed out the blue boots which you can just about pick out at the bottom of the photo.
They are much clearer in the original uncropped picture, and no self-respecting openside is going to wear blue boots are they?! We crosschecked it against other photos from the same match and this pic must be Lewsey (unless they swapped boots mid-match!)
But I agree, they do look incredibly alike.
And to Rich (post 4). I think you must be getting me mixed up with some else...

I've seen your article on the 大象传媒 sports section regarding the Army's challenge cup game this Saturday.

Also, I can give you a quote from our Chairman, Mike Denning, if you would like to also include that?
Mike Denning, Chairman of Thatto Heath Crusaders, commented, "As an amateur club we always look forward to the Challenge Cup each year but I must admit I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I saw the draw. A 500 mile round trip will be a challenge in itself but all the lads are up for the game and we know The Army will be ready for us too. I just hope all our players remember to set their alarm clocks for our 6am departure!". One player in particular who may be torn between the two games is Dave Bethell who plays for Thatto Heath and The Army! As The Army pay his wages, they get first choice! Dave was injured recently so may not be fit for the game on Saturday but his Thatto teammates say he's keeping his fitness under wraps until Saturday.
