Would you sign David Beckham?

At Football Focus one of the things we’ve been discussing this week is what the future holds for David Beckham.

People seem to have such a wide range of views on England’s ex-captain, but love him or hate him … please answer me this...

Would he be an asset for your club? Would he get in the team? Would he help results? Remember, he’s still only 31.

As the game’s most marketable player Beckham has become an icon and a superstar. . . Many believe his image has overshadowed his football in recent years. Has he ever really matched his finals?

Off the pitch, one thing most people find hard to criticise is Beckham’s passion for investing in youth. He has set up aca (suspiciously located??), both aimed at developing the football skills of girls and boys from as young as four years old.

Football Focus has launched a competition that also wants to encourage the next generation. In our case, it’s not about learning to juggle the ball. Instead, we’re after finding future football film-makers. If you’re between 13 and 19 years old then please send us your idea for a film you’d like to make.

Your film could be on anything from why Scotland will win Euro 2008 to your hunt to find the tastiest pie in football. Totally up to you.

Whoever sends in our favourite idea will win the chance to go out with a Football Focus crew as they film one of the programme's features. Imagine if it was your idea on the show.

All the details of how to enter are on the Blast website. Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with. As well as what you think to David Beckham joining your club.
