Manchester and London: Day One!

Post categories:

Vicki Vicki | 19:13 UK time, Monday, 15 February 2010

PHEW. We've just finished filming Day One of the London auditions and I am officially... POOPED! Err, or something less disgusting sounding. It's been an amazing day: there's been tears, laughter and a light sprinkling of snow. What more could you ask for??

Highlights today include hearing someone's made up "sob story" about how they deserve to get the part because their teddy fell down the side of the bed; meeting two best friends from Brighton... both of whom were called George; and the moment I scared a boy because I talked so loudly.

Last Friday saw us venture up to Manchester and Jimmy 0010 (offa YouTube) popped by to say hello. He did his very own 'audition' which'll be on The Cut Special tomorrow at 5:19pm on

www.bbc.co.uk/switch it's an interesting one, so make sure you tune in... ;)

Well, that's pretty much all the news for now - but just to let you know, all the judges are sooo impressed with the amount of talented people that have auditioned already, so really well done to everyone that has attended.

Vicki x

PS. The judges are all busy watching the uploaded auditions now - you'll know by tomorrow evening if you've got a recall.

I'm in the same situation as Leanne but I think that just means we didn't get a callback.

Hey I was wondering the same as they person above.
Also, do those who have callbacks now know? Or have the emails not been sent out yet because we were told sometime in the next 24 hours...

Neither me nor my friends heard anything and we uploaded our auditions last week too. I wonder did they notify by e-mail or phone? Anyways the callback is tomorrow so it's too late anyway unless you live in London. I live a couple hours away.

I was just about to upload my online audition before the deadline of midnight and the website said online auditions are now closed!!! And now I've read something else saying the deadline was at 6pm. I cant believe it! This is really not fair! Will we get another chance seeing as the info we were given was wrong?

    Has anyone got callbacks?

Hey Vicki, I came to the London Auditions, I didn't receive a call back due to me not being suitable for the role of "Elliot", which I kind of knew before the audition. However the casting director did call me back personally, after my improvisation, to ask if I had an agent and how old I was. I kind of gathered that I may be suitable for a different role. Is there any chance I could be put out of my misery and tell me if I have a shot at another role or not? I have been praying for two whole days now and I keep checking my phone and making sure the lines free and worrying if you had my details! It's driving me bonkers! Please let me know if you can

    Thanks,

    Ravi

Hi guys - there's a new blog here that may answer your questions /blogs/thecut/2010/02/jimmy-0010-on-the-cut-special.shtml - basically, online auditionees will find out by the end of the week if they've got a recall.

Ravi - we've got your details and will be in touch if a role for you comes up! But remember, this could be a long way into the future and we can't guarantee that we'll be in touch. But please don't be downhearted, you obviously did really well, so keep at it and well done!

Oh and Meghan... we've reopened the online auditions for one day only! Closes tonight at midnight, so go go go! :) x
