Among the audience comments to the ´óÏó´«Ã½ in the past 24 hours were many on coverage of the Middle East crisis, with one person complaining that the ´óÏó´«Ã½ is not devoting enough airtime to the story.
Also, some people remarked on coverage of the verdict in - with at least one person saying that the story should not have led any of the news bulletins.
We also received the following comment in an email:
I no longer see the need for news. Up until now I believed that news reporting had some effect on the perpetrators of violence - I'm afraid those days are gone.

I agree that the media has huge responsibility in promoting instability.
I was shocked by National Geographic Channel programming of terrorist plots I once watched on NGC the recreation of a terrorist attack on a PAL flight from Cebu. The terrorist hid liquid materials for the explosive in a lens-cleaning bottle. Today I wake up to the terror plot on ´óÏó´«Ã½ World and that liquids are not being allowed on board. Coincidence or did the plotters watched the same programme?

What on earth! I suppose the same person has just called you to say the foiled attacks shouldn't lead the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s news bulletins, too...
