Some good news for anyone who has been waiting for a ´óÏó´«Ã½ News iPhone app: the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Trust has just announced that the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s plans to launch dedicated smartphone applications for ´óÏó´«Ã½ News, Sport and iPlayer "do not require further scrutiny through a Public Value Test". This means the News app should be available from later today.

At the About The ´óÏó´«Ã½ blog, the director of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Future Media and Technology, Erik Huggers, announces the launch and at the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Internet Blog the executive product manager for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Mobile, David Madden, describes the features - so read on and comment at Erik's or David's post.
