Two Jobs
Peter Hain says he forgot to declare more than one hundred thousands pounds in donations because of the pressures of his governmental work, which at the time included trying to broker a deal here as well as keeping an eye on Wales. Is this proof positive that you can't take on two jobs, let alone fight an internal election campaign on top? If so, are there implications not just for Mr Hain, but also for Des Browne in Scotland?

Mark how glad am I that you posted a comment on Peter Hain. There is so much information on this guy that it would take a rainforest of paper to print. As Peter Hain showed here in N. Ireland he is a very incompetent under achiever. Now as head of the DWP in England and secretary of state in Wales he has demonstrated he missed his calling in life - as a circus performer. Peter jumps from one lie to another. He claims he forgot about these donations. I wonder what reminded him off it? In N. Ireland as the secretary of state he claimed he personally brought about Power Sharing. We now know it was the DUP and Sinn Fein together. He claimed he had a great chance of winning the deputy leadership of the labour party last year. Where did he finish? Last. Then after a summer recess to decide how he could smarten up his image he returned as head of a multi billion pound department in DWP. We all know what is happening to Government departments at this time. The public's information is being lost hand over fist while these silly servants are getting bonuses hand over fist. With Peter Hain in charge I am not surprised. These Ministers don’t do anything but let advisors do their work. Peter Hain should be ashamed of himself. How can us the general public have confidence in him. Gordon Brown has. Again this says enough of the Government. I would love to challenge Gordon on these issues. Mark if you can explain to me how do these ministers stay in office after making huge blunders? Tony Blair started it and now it is a common thread in British politics if you make huge mistake step back for a while and come back fighting on. Do these guys not know the country has no faith in them anymore? What we need is a Government similiar to that in Australia. As for double jobbing most politicians do it. Gordon Brown is Mr Bean, David Cameron is Des O'Connor and Peter Hain is Frank Spencer or could he be Trigger from Only Fool's and Horses in disguise. The only difference between them is Trigger was more intelligent.

HAIN GETTING A GOOD TANNING AT LAST
Peter Hain’s difficulties have nought to do with his overextending himself by taking on two jobs. The truth is that he is an unprincipled snake-oil salesman to whom political sharp practice is second nature, as we saw when he was our Secretary of State, He got away with it here but I knew he would get his comeuppance eventually. The implications of his playing fast and loose with the rules are that he can expect a few early morning visits from Commander Yates of the Yard. *
Hain on the skids. Hip, Hip, Hooray!
