Liveblogging Obama's maiden UN address
This was going to be my liveblog of . Sadly, I had a few technical problems.
15:20: If this is history in the making, it is history by the skin of its teeth: the president arrived just minutes before the previous speaker sat down. He said he is humbled by his responsibility but the expectations are rising because of discontent with the status quo. He says those who criticised America for acting alone cannot now stand aside.
1600: Mark calls in, using an old-fashioned device called a telephone. He sends his apologies for managing just the one entry but technology failed in the bowels of the UN. He'll be back later - technology permitting.
