The World Cup Eleven - continued
Now that we know the semi-final line-up its time to update the "Team of the Tournament". You may remember this led to a great deal of debate the last time we picked an eleven following the group phase.
We'll be debating our dream team during our coverage of the Ireland v Sri Lanka match.

Anyway - for what it's worth here is my "Team of the Tournament" so far:
1: Matthew Hayden (Australia)
Started the tournament with doubts over his fitness and place in the team. 477 runs later there are no doubts. South Africa won't be looking forward to facing him in the St Lucia semi-final. When the teams met in the group phase Hayden broke the record for the fastest World Cup century.
2: Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka)
Just sneaks in ahead of Graeme Smith because of his more-than-useful spin bowling. It's like 1996 all over again for Sanath and his explosive batting may just win Sri Lanka the cup again.
3: Ricky Ponting (Australia) Captain
More than 400 runs in the tournament so far and most of them made against the best oppositions. In the sort of form that makes you think the best way to get him out is through a run-out. Also a brilliant fielder and a captain who knows all about winning.
4: Jacques Kallis (South Africa)
Has been criticised for not going through the gears quickly enough, but is the tournament's leading scorer with a more-than-impressive strike rate. Also a front-line bowling option.
5: Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) Wicketkeeper
Really difficult to choose this team's wicketkeeper. The World Cup performances of Mark Boucher, Adam Gilchrist, Brendon McCullum and England's Paul Nixon are all very similar. But Sangakkara gets my vote as a top batsman and someone who keeps to the tournament's most varied bowling attack. He will be used to Malinga's slingers and Murali's magic.
6: Scott Styris (New Zealand)
May not be the biggest name in world cricket , but currently top of the World Cup averages. This team's "finisher" and a very handy bowling option for the captain. Also the player who TMS listeners most enjoy finding lookalikes for. Apparently he's the spitting image of , Anthony Worrall Thompson and many many others.
7: Jacob Oram (New Zealand)
Said he'd cut off a finger to play in the World Cup… well he's managed to keep all his digits intact and enjoy an excellent tournament with bat and ball. Just wins a place ahead of South Africa's Andrew Hall as he has the potential to be an explosive batsman in the latter stages of an innings.
8: Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka)
His four wickets in four balls against South Africa is still one of the performances of the tournament. Unusual and lethal… he has had injury problems, but maybe also being saved as Sri Lanka's secret weapon for the final.
9: Shane Bond (New Zealand)
Great to see one of the world's best fast bowlers fit again - and what a tournament he is having. A wicket taker but also one of the most economical bowlers in the game.
10: Glenn McGrath (Australia)
So hands up those who said this World Cup would be a tournament too far for McGrath. Yet again he's proved the critics wrong and is not only this tournament's top wicket taker, but the highest wicket taker in World Cup history.
11: Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka)
Just wins the spinner's position ahead of Australia's Brad Hogg. Murali continues to bamboozle the best batsman.
12th man: Herschelle Gibbs (South Africa)
The six sixes man has had an excellent tournament big hitting but also holding back when circumstances have required it. Wins a place as 12th man also because of his fantastic fielding.
