Cricket rocks!
When it comes to cricket-loving musicians, it is well known that the likes of Eric Clapton, , Mick Jagger and ex-Stranglers frontman are huge fans of the game.
But there is a new generation of music stars who follow cricket, like , who joined us in the box at Lord's to tell us how he got into the game.
"I'm quite a latecomer to cricket. When I was 17, I started watching it on the telly as it was a great way of occupying five days before the next dole cheque came in," he said.
It was the Ashes series of 1997 which first caught his attention, watching the first Test at Edgbaston when England's bowlers dismissed Australia cheaply before Nasser Hussain and new TMS summariser Graham Thorpe put the Aussie bowling to the sword.
Johnny told Jonathan Agnew that it is Test Cricket he loves, rather than shorter forms of the game - "Test cricket all the way for me. I love the subtle shifts, the build-up of pressure. Test cricket is the real story not the contrived results you get in limited-over games."
Of the current England players, Matthew Hoggard is his favourite, but Borrell has also caught Monty fever as well !
"No disrespect to Ashley Giles [another who made a Test Match Special debut at Lords], but it's just great to have a genuine match winning spinner," he explained.
Borrell also admitted he is a huge fan of TMS and he listened to commentary on Steve Harmison's infamous opening delivery of the 2006/7 Ashes whilst on tour with Razorlight in Moscow.
Another member of this new cricket-loving generation of musicians is joining us this weekend at Trent Bridge.
Harry Judd, the drummer from top band , will be Jonathan Agnew's guest for our "View from the Boundary" during Sunday's lunch interval. Judd is not only a huge cricket fan, he's also a very good cricketer himself and almost played for England schoolboys.
Judd was the star of the Sport Relief Celebrity cricket team which played some matches last year in India and has also turned out for many other sides including the Bunbury's and the Teenage Cancer trust side.
If you want to see him in action, Judd is playing for the Bunbury's on Sunday 5 August at Mill Hill School cricket ground in North London to help raise money for ASPIRE, a spinal cord injury charity. It’s the Bunbury's against a Saracens XI including former All Black captain Taine Randell.
Judd had better be in good form on that day because he'll be playing alongside Graham Gooch, but the two will have the chance to talk tactics this weekend because Gooch is also part of our commentary team.
Gooch will be joining Indian great Sunil Gavaskar and TMS favourite Vic Marks, with Ashley Giles popping in between his appearances alongside Pat Murphy on Five Live.
