Exciting times - but dangerous too

It's amazing how fast the already frenetic world of Twenty20 is moving at the moment.

New proposals of exciting and staggeringly rich new tournaments are being mooted, while, in India, the continues its impressive debut.

I have been in Chennai to witness the event for myself, and this visit culminated in the match between the which was won, for the record, by Chennai.

New Zealand make a quiet arrival

It was, possibly, an inevitable moment.

As New Zealand's cricket captain for the start of the England tour sat down to take questions from the media, one veteran sportswriter asked his colleague: "Is that ?"

That's right folks, the Black Caps have landed in town to begin a 10-week tour of England and Scotland.

However, until 1 May, their five most marketable players are boosting their pension funds by turning out in the , so a star-studded squad they are not.

Blog upgrade explained

We have just put through some significant upgrades to our blog system. The good news is that they should make life much easier for you. We know there have been publishing delays in the past and these should be eased.

The biggest change you will notice is that you now have to register in order to make a comment. You can do so here or by following the link below this post.

Registration brings the ´óÏó´«Ã½ blog network into line with other interactive platforms on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ like and and will enable us to manage your comments better.

Sussex still the team to beat

This is a job I loathe. The only people who will enjoy reading it will be those who will keep a copy and come waving it in my face in August proving how wrong I was.

Predictions for the new county season is not only a fool's game but also if I was a coach or captain and someone put in print that my side would be relegated before a ball was bowled in anger I would think them pretty stupid.

But I got the call and was told I had to do it and so I have.
