Adebayor's started so well for Man City
I heart Russell
It may be unwise to admit any kind of affection for a fellow ´óÏó´«Ã½ presenter you barely know, but I did love Russell Brand when I met him...
.
Not in a saucy kind of way but in the way you love a sibling kind of way. Which is bizarre cos I don't know him from adam and it's the first time I've ever met him. I'm glad I'm not yet old enough to be his mother (age is becoming a recurring theme on this blog) but he did bring out my maternal instincts. Probably cos he's had some pretty grim times and still managed to turn it all around. Some of my female colleagues wanted to know if I thought he was sexy...I'd say yes cos he's really funny.
The kind of texts we were getting (apart from the obligatory "Why are you wasting time on this foul-mouthed presenter/jumped-up wannabe/Z list reality TV star/low life scum" - delete as necessary) were all about what a top bloke he was - people do seem genuinely fond of him.
I've often shouted at the radio during Victoria's show but never before have I laughed so much that I've cried. I just wish I could have seen Victoria's face when Russell told her off for critisizing him for letting a mouse urinate in his hair when she hadn't tried it herself.... Victoria you must have been on tenter hooks all interview incase he was inapproriate and he sailed so close to the wind it was brilliant.... I haven't been a great fan of his work but I'll try to watch one of his shows after that interview, a classic.
The reason you like RB is probably the same as mine and all his fans, he's one of the most intelligent articulate people around at the moment and has an unerring knack of underplaying his not so small achievements.
Also for an interviewer he must be gold as all you have to do is prompt him and he can make any situation hilarious because of his sharp observation of the world around himself. I would also imagine that a lot of women would fancy him because he is very good looking not to mention the size of his wallet!
