Kylie, Clare and me

Victoria Derbyshire | 18:21 UK time, Monday, 12 November 2007

A couple of weeks ago someone rang me up to see if I was "available" to take part in the celeb version of The Apprentice (for Children in Need or Comic Relief I think). Of course I was available, after my day job talking to you lot and then looking after the kids in the afternoon, yes I'd love to do it. So I think Clare Balding's doing it instead.

Kylie's on CIN on Fri night. When I'm feeling old I try to comfort myself by reminding myself (and those close to me) that I'm younger than Kylie... although I went to a dear friend's surprise 40th this weekend. It's hard to come to terms with the fact that I'm now attending birthdays where people say "How did I get to here, eh?".

So when are you supposed to have a mid-life crisis? Any time now or what? And is it just an excuse to go out and get completely drunk and forget all your responsibilities?

    Hi Victoria

I'm younger than Kylie too, in fact it's a bit of mantra for me. Although I have inserted the word "still" into it.

I take comfort from the fact that in years to come if Ms Minogue starts shaving the odd year off, so can I! I should be so lucky

    Kind Regards

    Nicola
