The Xmas Number 7

Victoria Derbyshire | 12:21 PM, Friday, 23 November 2007

The Black Mountains want to get to Number 7 in the Xmas charts. The song they've written is called "Overplayed Song"... I promised them on air I'd link to their site from this blog, so here's me keeping my promise!

Love this song! I will be deeply disappointed if this lot don't get a look in this christmas.
Four chaps writing a lovely song which says more about this time of year than anything else Ive heard in a long time.

Still, I imagine there will be some blobby-esque freakshow at no 1 with 'music' akin to an interrogation technique adopted by Americans in their crates at Bagram airbase...

    Hi Robbie

I read in the Mirror today or yesterday that Strictly Come Dancing are releasing the theme tune for Xmas...the intention being ot beat the X-Factor winner to Number One.

    Hello Victoria

Angie Watts seminal 1986 single 'Any one can fall in love' springs to mind.

Despite being married to the curly haired rock astronomer, Brian May, she only achieved number 4. In August of 1986.

I think the Beeb needs to think hard about releasing records after that piece of aural shock and awe. And thats with the goal in mind of de-railing taste terrorist Simon Cowell by any and all means...

great that you have helped the Black Mountains on their quest for Number seven. Wouildn't it be cool if a bunch of lads from Herefrodshire managed it?
