Why sack him?

Victoria Derbyshire | 09:02 AM, Sunday, 2 December 2007

Did you hear that Newcastle fan on 606 last night? He was so angry that Joey Barton, an "average player" according to the caller had dared to tell Newcastle fans to stop having a go at Sam Allardyce, and even more angry that Barton had described the supporters as vicious. Later Alan Green asked if Newcastle lose to Arsenal next wk, could Sam A be out of his job?

Doesn't that strike you as absolutely crazy? They are 14 games (ish) into the season, he's been given money to spend (and he's spent it), and Newcastle are mid-table. How many managers have the club had since the Premiership begun? And how many of those won anything? So why not for once, just for a change, stick with the guy you've paid a fortune to be your manager and see what happens. After all see what he did at Bolton over a period of about ten years and just imagine what could be achieved if he was given a similar amount of time at Newcastle.

Vic D is obviously in love with Big Sam from his time at Bolton - but I do agree he needs more time to make an impact at Newcastle -question is in these days of demanded instant success -will he get it?

    Victoria,

You should know by now that "the Toon Army " are the best fans in the world and will only accept " attractive" football.
Allerdyce was always going to struggle with his industrial, if effective style of Football he employed at Bolton.
As Sheffield Wednesday fan who has been used to Managers going on a regular basis over the last 15 years or so i can obviously attest to the stupidity of pulling the trigger on Managers too often. We had our worst start to the season in our history this season , losing 6 out of 6 and i'm certain that had our finances allowed Brian Laws would have been shown the door but for whatever reason he wasn't and has just taken the Manager of the Month for November after a run of form which, up until a poor display yesterday, had us at the top of the current form table for the Championship ( thats the division under the Premiership as i know you, FiveLive and the Beeb in general struggle to understand that football isn't just about 20 clubs in the money league, or Premier league as its known ).
Newcastle Fans need a reality check they are at best a mid table side and Allerdyce's horrible brand of Football will see them achieve their proper station in the League.
Oh and by the way Barton is an average player with a nasty streak who upto just has had one decent season.
