Does FiveLive know it's pancake day - NO!
But they, like the rest of the ´óÏó´«Ã½, are aware of the build up to the NOVEMBER US elections.
Why so much blanket* coverage? Are the UK audience really that interested?
*Main TV News anchored from US, Bacon's program on it, Mayo covered it, breakfast trailers for it and drive jumps on any band waggon passing (though I do like Grumpy Alan) - I think the only program missing it yesterday was Sport on Five!!! (THANK GOD for this!).
I realise this comment will be rejected, as it's against the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s "US Election" strategy...
...However some other thoughts (that may get published): 1) I've not come across anyone interesed in the US elections yet it's constantly on the TV/Radio, 2) UK is still a "Christian" country and but PC correctness means that this traditional kick-off for Easter is ignored, 3) Would this happen to any other religion... I guess not, it's always the case with Christian festivals (not Christmas).
Which would be higher? The number of people having pancakes on Tuesday, or the number of people interested in the US elections - I guess the former.
FYI - I am no religious nut, however I am fed up with the US election already!!!
I am loving keeping up with the US elections.
But I can't understand why our license money is paying for John Pienaar to be in the US for the results, when he is only on air for a few minutes at a time.
Perhaps if there was less trivia on the breakfast show and more news we may get our money's worth.
