Adebayor's started so well for Man City
Ashes to Ashes, Keeley Hawes and perms
Anyone watching Ashes to Ashes? I am completely in love with Gene Hunt still and am also rather taken with DI Drake's perm. Tomorrow I promise to post a photo of me and a perm from the 1980s on this very blog. Then I'd like photos of you with a perm too. Email me victoria@bbc.co.uk
Dear Victoria
Your programme generally deals with items of current interest and frequently lowering of standards. Can you, therefore, maintain higher standards with respect to the use of "bad" language amongst your callers.
The man who, this morning, expressed a desire to vote in a referendum (but who hadn't voted in the last General Election - if a choice of three candidates in an election isn't sufficient for him, why does he think a referendum which will probably offer two choices is more democratic?) casually threw in the (admittedly common nowadays) expression "For Christ's sake, give us a referendum." As this appears to be accepted by the broadcast media nowadays, is this not a lowering of standards.
I doubt Lord Reith would disagree with me.
