Gordon Brown has declined our invitation...

Victoria Derbyshire | 18:53 PM, Monday, 23 June 2008

..to come on the programme. Shame. He could have celebrated his first year in office with you on Friday.

Here's our "invitation" timetable: we asked if he would come on the show ahead of the local elections in May so you would have an opportunity to talk to him. On Friday April 25th his people told us we wouldn't get the PM but that Jack Straw would come on instead.

After the local election results when Mr Brown promised to "listen and lead" - we invited him on again. We thought it would be good if he could listen to you.

19th May: after Mr Brown posted a message on Youtube asking people to submit questions we recorded our own video and put it up there asking him to speak to you. The deadline for answers to the Youtube questions is the end of June.

However at the end of last week his office got back to us to say they have "no plans to do an interview in the near future with us but thanks for the offer".
