Irrational swine flu thoughts & today's show

Victoria Derbyshire | 08:50 UK time, Tuesday, 5 May 2009

If you've sneezed lately, how many people have joked about you catching swine flu?
I'm being completely irrational about it. My other half came back from Mexico last Wednesday. He works for the World Service and flew out to cover the effects drugs are having on Mexico City but obviously that changed with the swine flu outbreak. Before he arrived home I noticed I had a mild sore throat. Now it's a cold. And occasionally in the back of my mind I ask myself "what if I've caught swine flu?". I know it's absurd because how could I have swine flu if my partner doesn't? I've been reading the with more sobriety

than I would normally reserve for reading government public information. Your leeaflet will drop through the letter box tomorrow.
On today's programme what has the European Parliament ever done for you? We'll talk the aunt of the pregnant british woman being held in jail in Laos. And Chris Eubank and Chris Eubank - father and son, on Chris Junior's move into professional boxing...
