Amen Corner's piece of Hammer Horror history

Best remembered for being one of the very few films starring Hammer horror staples , and (oh, and also a pre-Last Of The Summer Wine ), the 1970 film is notable for the appearance in the film and soundtrack of Cardiff's Amen Corner.

In the original edit of the film, the band perform a cameo in the film, in a nightclub scene, singing the theme song, also called Scream And Scream Again. However, rights problems apparently forced a rejig of the film's score and Amen Corner's music was replaced.

Scream And Scream Again also marked one of the very last times that the original Amen Corner performed together before Andy Fairweather Lowe left for a solo career.

The film has garnered something of a cult following, not least because of its nonsensical plot. Having the three greatest horror actors in the same film, however, has not prevented the film from getting a 70% rating on .

So, a curiosity, then and one for fans of Amen Corner to seek out in its original form.
