Some great new stories and comments have come in from contributors to the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Wales NE website regarding the region's past.

Margaret remembers Flint's WWII Home Guard: "They used to go up to the woods opposite Flint hospital, and they used to go with sticks and shovels, spades and brushes, and have a little practice in the woods. You can smile now at Dad's Army, but that's the way it really was."

Meanwhile, Mark adds comments to do with Shotton: "Sometimes I ventured 'over the banks' to the Summers (steelworks) sports fields where they actually had nets in the goals...what a thrill to shoot a ball for the first time into a net."

And Georgina asks: "Does anyone remember the circus coming to Cefn... when a lion escaped and caused mayhem?"
