Wrexham's first World Cup player, Dennis Lawrence, has thanked local people for backing him and the Trinidad and Tobago team. Dennis told : "The support we have received has been phenomenal. We came out here to make our fans happy and to make them feel proud of us. We had messages from so many people and especially from fans in Wrexham."

Meanwhile, Michael Owen flew into Hawarden Airport this evening. says Michael, who has a £2m home in Sychdyn, near Mold, was later seen hobbling into his house on crutches.
